Careem NOW data shows that healthy intentions falter as the week…

Careem NOW data shows that healthier options are second only to Arabic food when it comes to ordering food delivery, but healthy intentions falter as the week progresses.

That people order more healthy food on the weekdays, compared to weekends, should come as no surprise, but Careem NOW data can reveal that our intentions to eat healthier food steadily diminishes throughout the week.

The highest number of healthy cuisine orders are placed on Sunday, representing nearly one-in-five of the total orders with the Careem NOW app in Dubai. That number gradually decreases as the week goes on and by Friday just one-in-ten orders are from the healthier options available.

But despite willpower to eat healthier sliding as the week goes on, healthier options are still the second-most ordered option overall. Arabic is the most-ordered cuisine, with one-in-four dishes requested for delivery coming from Arabic restaurants, but it seems Dubai is trying to eat healthier, even if willpower fades…

Careem Max seven-seater service launches in Gaza

Careem Max has launched in Gaza. This new service means that Careem customers can order seven-seat vehicles – ideal for groups of passengers, larger familiar and company employees.

We have launched Careem Max based on the results of a study conducted in Gaza Strip as part of our commitment to provide transport services that cover diverse needs.

The Careem market study indicated that there is an increase in customers’ demand for larger type vehicles to accommodate more passengers especially during summer season, as the seven-seat vehicle models are not easily available within the transportation sector in the Gaza Strip.

This reality is compounded with the fact that customers are having difficulty finding a means to communicate with drivers of such vehicles to book rides.

Careem believes that the inclusion of these vehicles into its fleet in Gaza Strip will contribute to the revival of the transport sector, in addition to improving the income of owners of the vehicles.

How Careem’s Destination Prediction Service speeds up your…

In Dubai, there are around 8,000 restaurants, the world’s tallest building, over 50 malls, lots of beaches, theme parks and much more. The number of destinations is vast – so where are you going next?

You’re not the only one trying to answer that question.

Careem is constantly trying to figure out where its users will go next. And not just in Dubai, but in all 15 of the countries in which we’re present and for all 33 million of the platform’s users.

Why does a ride-hailing service need the answer?

Imagine, instead of asking a user to search his destination on a map by manually inputting the address, we simply give them a shortlist of most probable locations to choose from.

One-click booking makes things faster and easier for the customer, and knowing where a customer would like to go next – even before they tell us – allows us to improve our service by ensuring the busier areas have a greater supply of transport options.

The Careem data science team asked the question, “if we bui..

The deal with a global insurance broker has secured policies that would potentially pay up to $20,000 to cover expenses related to death or serious injury caused by an accident during a Careem ride.

Captains are covered by insurance from the moment that their app is online and available to pick up passengers, right through when they are en-route to pick-up a fare or waiting at the pick up location, as well as when driving the passenger to their destination.

Safety remains our top priority as we expand across new territories and enter new verticals. The introduction of our new free global insurance plan means that our Captains and all 33 million of our customers now have insurance while riding with us in any country. This is a huge commitment from Careem that reflects the importance of safety and well-being of our cu..

Careem discounts for expat Pakistanis when returning home

There are around nine million Pakistanis who have left their homeland in search of employment and each month they send money home – as much as $1.9 billion in total every 30 days.

Around 82 percent of money that is sent back to Pakistan comes from just five countries – Saudi Arabia, the United States, the United Kingdom. Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates.

One of Careem’s biggest markets is Pakistan, but many of the Careem Captains working in other countries – notable here in the UAE – are also Pakistani. So, we invited 50 Pakistani Captains working in Dubai to meet with Mudassir Sheikha, CEO and Co-Founder of Careem, and Zulfiqar Bukhari, the Special Assistant of the Prime Minister for Overseas Pakistan.

To mark this meeting, Junaid Iqbal, the Managing Director of Careem Pakistan is now working with the Ministry of Overseas to develop special promo codes for expat Pakistanis to use when they are back in Pakistan. In addition to this, a team is now being set up to work with vario..
