Renault Samsung to produce ultracompact Twizy EV from October

Renault Samsung Motors Corp., the South Korean unit of French carmaker Renault S.A., said Thursday the Twizy ultracompact electric vehicle (EV) will be locally produced starting next month.The two-seat EV will be assembled by local auto parts maker Dongshin Motech Co..Renault Samsung plans to roll out 5,000 Twizys a year, but the capacity could expand to 15,000 units depending on market demand.

Fox Automotive to produce MIA EV reboot in Hungary

Fox Automotive Switzerland and Phoenix Gold Resources have announced plans to launch production in Hungary of the MIA EV 2.0, a new version of a compact all-electric vehicle initially made by a French company that went bust in 2014.Fox and Phoenix announced the establishment of a Hungarian subsidiary, called Fox Automotive Hungary, headed by Ekkehard Philipp, the former CFO of German car maker Daimlerʼs manufacturing business in Hungary.Fox has a full-fledged assembly line.

Renault Kwid facelift to be launched in four variants

The second half of 2019 has been quite busy for Renault.A host of interior changes can be expected the Renault Kwid facelift.Earlier in February, Renault had updated the entire Kwid range with standard safety features like ABS with EBD, driver airbag, driver and co-driver seat belt reminder and speed alert system.

Nissan is recalling 1.23 million vehicles, including some Rogue and Altima models

Hong Kong (CNN Business)Nissan is recalling 1.23 million SUVs and sedans in the United States and Canada in order to fix a problem with backup cameras in the vehicles.The problem with the backup camera systems in the affected vehicles is that they don’t return to the default image when the transmission is shifted into reverse.Nissan acknowledged in a letter to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that the reduced rear visibility “could lead to an increased risk of an accident in the event the driver does not re-adjust the display before reversing.”
