Chinese startup Human Horizons unveiled its first production-ready prototype vehicle, called HiPhi 1, last week in Shanghai, targeting the premium segment of the growing electric car market.It aims to create the ultimate mobility solution composed of smart cities, smart infrastructure and smart vehicles.Human Horizons also launched a pilot smart road program in January this year in Yancheng, Jiangsu province.

GAC Group keeping pace with fast-changing new energy car sector

The new energy vehicle sector is changing at a pace that is faster than most expected, but Guangzhou-based carmaker GAC Group is adapting its efforts in a bid to innovate and lead the way.GAC reached a deal with the Shaoguan government in Guangdong province to establish a test hub focusing on new energy vehicles, intelligent connectivity and autonomous driving sectors in January.When GAC New Energy Automobile launches the Aion LX SUV, it will have a mileage of more than 600 km.

Serial production of Russia’s first Zetta electric car can start in 2019

MOSCOW, August 2. /TASS/. Serial production of Russia’s first Zetta electric car can start by 2019 year-end if the company completes certification this fall, Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said on Friday in an interview with Auto Mail.ru web portal.
“The project of Zetta economy class four-wheel drive electric car of domestic design and assembly is worked out at present with proactive support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. The company plans to complete certification as early as this fall; in such case it will be possible to speak of starting serial production by the year-end,” Manturov said.
The car is unique owing to the all-purpose energy efficient traction motor, the Minister noted. “The Russian gearbox-free platform underlies this ecofriendly car,” Manturov said.
Zetta is the first Russian electric car that will be serially produced in Togliatti.

Chinese company discusses project to manufacture electric buses in Egypt

CAIRO, July 31 (Xinhua) — Egypt's Minister of Military Production Mohamed Saeid el-Asar and Local Development Minister Mahmoud Shaarawy discussed on Wednesday with officials from China's Foton Motor and IMUT (International Marathon United Technology) companies a new project for jointly manufacturing electric buses, official news agency MENA reported.
Foton officials reviewed the characteristics and the capabilities of the buses to be manufactured in Egypt, the report said.
Foton said it is currently working on exporting the newest electric buses that are suitable for the operation and environment in Egypt.
“Manufacturing electric buses in Egypt is part of a government plan to upgrade the fleet of the public transport authority with an aim to ease the traffic congestion in the capital and the countries' largest cities,” Shaarawy said.
The plan is also meant to localize the electric buses in Egypt and to improve services offered to citizens, he added.
