A new big showroom in the French capital anticipates increased volumes after market introduction of the Super SUV UrusFrench premiere of the new Urus2017: Lamborghini sales record in France and Monaco with 127 deliveries (+35%) Sant’Agata Bolognese/Paris, 01 February 2018 – Automobili Lamborghini officially opened its brand new showroom in Paris in the presence of Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the company.
The new showroom and service centre, located at 2 Rue Bellini, Puteaux, is the 5th Lamborghini sales point within the dealer network in France, together with Lyon, Mulhouse, Cannes and Monaco. The commercial partner chosen for Lamborghini Paris is Schumacher Group, a long-established French family company with 70 years of experience in the car business.
“In 2017 we achieved a sales record with a total of 127 deliveries in France and Monaco, which represents an increase of 35% in comparison to 2016. France has now become our 3rd strongest market in Europe after UK and Germany. With Urus market introduction we forecast a new record year in France in 2018. We welcome the Schumacher Group to our family of dealers” says Automobili Lamborghini Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Stefano Domenicali.
On a global scale Automobili Lamborghini set another historic sales record in 2017. With 145 dealers serving 50 countries, worldwide deliveries to customers increased from 3,457 to 3,815 units. This represents a double digit sales growth of 10% compared to the previous year. With a sustained sales growth performance over seven years, the company has almost tripled its sales numbers since 2010 (1,302 units).
“I am very pleased to welcome the Lamborghini marque, one of the country’s top-performing luxury sports car brands, to our Group,” comments Edouard Schumacher, Chief Executive Officer of Schumacher Group. “We will offer every customer a unique service, with a warm and professional welcome in a family atmosphere, structured around a common passion for the Italian super sports car brand. Our appointment enables us to strengthen our position in the luxury segment, and for sure will contribute to raising recognition and enthusiasm for Lamborghini in our country.”
Lamborghini Paris inauguration signed the French premiere of the new Super SUV Urus, whose market introduction in Europe will start in spring 2018. The Lamborghini Urus is a visionary approach, infusing the Lamborghini DNA into the most versatile vehicle, the SUV. The Urus elevates the SUV to a level not previously possible, the Super SUV.
It features a 4.0 liter V8 twin-turbo engine delivering 650 hp (478 kW) at 6,000 rpm, maximum 6,800 rpm, and 850 Nm of maximum torque already at 2,250 rpm. The Urus accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 12,8 seconds and with a top speed of 305 km/h it is the fastest SUV available.
With a total surface of over 1200 square meters the new Paris showroom and service centre is the first French showroom to feature the brand’s new design. The environment dimension also reflects the need for increased space as Lamborghini expands its model line-up with the new Urus and plans to double its sales by 2019.
Opportunities to literally ‘touch and feel’ the world of Lamborghini include: a client lounge inclusive of a car configuration system to guide the customer through specifying his Lamborghini; a display area large enough to accommodate all product range available and a state of the art service centre. The Collezione Automobili Lamborghini range of clothing and accessories has also a dedicated area in the showroom.

Incorporating Lamborghini’s revamped corporate design, the new showroom reflects the need for increased space as the company expands its model line-up with the market launch of its new Super Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) by mid 2018. Spanning over 3,000 square-feet, the complex is Lamborghini Hong Kong’s largest showroom to date and is located at 1A Star Street in Wanchai, an elegant neighborhood and a go-to destination for creative minds seeking a unique lifestyle. “Lamborghini is a strong, highly-acclaimed brand worldwide, and our new dealership environment is a very tangible demonstration of this,” said Automobili Lamborghini Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Stefano Domenicali. “We are committed to building a solid dealer network that clearly communicates our brand to loyal and new clients in both the way we look and the way we operate. Lamborghini and our dealer partners are investing in a bright future together,” added Mr. Domenicali. Mr. Albert Wong, Director of Lamborghini Hong Kong added: “Endowed with the support of Lamborghini owners and enthusiasts, Hong Kong is one of our most important retail outlets around the world. The new showroom simply reflects our confidence in Lamborghini’s business in Hong Kong, in anticipation of the expanded model line-up and increase in sales with the launch of the new Super SUV,” said Mr. Wong. The new showroom exteriors are instantly recognizable by the illuminated Lamborghini shield on a black background that glows at night. Inside, the space is bright and clean, characterized by polygons, sharp forms, raw surfaces and a diffusion of light and color. There are also opportunities for customers to literally ‘touch and feel’ the world of Lamborghini: a client lounge that includes a car configuration system to guide the customers through specifying their Lamborghini; product and Ad Personam areas that provide samples of exterior and interior finishes, allowing customers to physically touch and play with combinations of colors and materials, such as soft leathers or the appearance of carbon fiber. The complex also houses the headquarters of Kingsway Holdings, the parent company of Lamborghini Hong Kong (Kingsway Cars Ltd.), Lamborghini Guangzhou (Kingsland Cars Ltd.) as well as the Hong Kong-side of Lamborghini Macau (Kingsbridge Cars Ltd., a joint-venture between Kingsway Holdings and Macau-based Resuma Motors Ltd.) To celebrate this momentous occasion, distinguished guests such as Consul General of Italy in Hong Kong & Macau Mr. Antonello De Riu as well as top management from Automobili Lamborghini, including Chairman & Chief Executive Officer Mr. Stefano Domenicali, Chief Commercial Officer Mr. Federico Foschini, and Lamborghini Hong Kong Managing Director Mr. Leo Wong, Director Mr. Albert Wong, were in attendance at the launch ceremony today. Guests also had the privilege of appreciating up-close the highly-exclusive Lamborghini Centenario Coupe in a stunning matte Verde Bronte exterior color, contrasted with golden carbon-fiber finishes. Created as a tribute to the 100th Anniversary of Automobili Lamborghini founder Ferruccio Lamborghini, the Centenario is limited to 40 units (20 Coupe and 20 Roadster), with this particular unit loaned for display at the opening ceremony as a gesture of support from its owner. The Aventador S Coupe – the newest flagship Lamborghini – painted in Rosso Mars (metallic red) and outfitted in a plethora of carbon-fibre options, is displayed alongside the legendary Centenario.

Sant’Agata Bolognese, 28 November 2016 – Two design studios, both from Italy, have been announced as the joint winners of the Lamborghini Road Monument Competition, the international architectural contest launched last September for the design of two installations inspired by the House of the Raging Bull. Both ACQ Studio and 0.9 won the unanimous vote of members of the Jury and will see their projects installed at the gates of Sant’Agata Bolognese, the town where Automobili Lamborghini is based, within autumn 2017.
Automobili Lamborghini decided to make an exception and announce two winners on account of the very high quality of the entries. Both winners will receive the total prize money of 12,000 Euros.
The entry submitted by ACQ Studio team from Livorno is an installation featuring taut, minimalist and sharp lines: the same stylistic language of Lamborghini super sports cars with their geometrical surfaces and intersections. The project penetrates the ground before soaring up towards the sky with the golden, stylized and linear forms of the Lamborghini shield.
The entry submitted by “0.9” team, originally from Milan but now based in London, pays homage to speed and dynamism. The installation takes the idea of ‘suspended speed’, and reproduces the silhouette of a Lamborghini super sports car in sections. How the work is seen depends on the angle of observation, in the same way that a Lamborghini changes as it flashes past at high speed. The metal sections emphasize the dynamic and changing effect of the sculpture.
The event was launched by Automobili Lamborghini in partnership with YAC, Young Architects Competitions, and proved to be a record contest: over 500 projects were submitted to the jury by design studios and architects from around the world. 25% of applications were sent in from Italy, the remainder from other countries in Europe, America (20%), Asia (20%), Oceania (4%) and Africa (2%).
Young architects, designers and practices competed to create works that will enhance the entry points to the town of Sant’Agata Bolognese, where Lamborghini is headquartered. The competition’s goal was to offer the local area a renewed sense of identity with installations making their marque on contemporary architecture through their interpretation of Lamborghini’s philosophy: visionary, cutting edge in terms of its technology, and stylistically pure.
The contest was sponsored by the Emilia-Romagna Region, the Metropolitan City of Bologna, the municipality of Sant’Agata Bolognese, the Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna and Unindustria Bologna, and had the benefit of an exceptional international jury. Four internationally famous architectural practices, such as Zaha Hadid Architects, Studio Fabio Novembre, Studio Libeskind and Foster + Partners, judged the entries alongside Francesco Dal Co, Editor of «Casabella», Giuseppe Cappochin, President of the Italian Professional Association of Architects, Annalisa Trentin from the University of Bologna, Stefano Domenicali, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini, and Mitja Borkert, Director of Lamborghini Centro Stile.

Increase in worldwide deliveries: 2,091 cars in the first six months of 2017 (+4%) Production site expansion: inauguration of the new office building with LEED Platinum certificationWorkforce doubled over the last ten yearsSustainable growth balanced with brand exclusivity Sant’Agata Bolognese, 18 July 2017 – In the first six months of 2017, Automobili Lamborghini recorded a further increase in worldwide deliveries. A total of 2,091 cars were delivered to customers: an increase of 4% over the same period of 2016.
Three years since the Huracán was introduced to the market, its commercial success is once again confirmed, with 1,400 units delivered in the first six months of 2017 (+2%). In June, the Huracán also reached the important milestone of 8,000 cars produced in just three years.
From January to June 2017, deliveries to customers of the Aventador model reached 691 units (+7%). Its success is highlighted by unit number 7,000 that will be produced in the next few weeks.
Expansion of the site in Sant’Agata Bolognese
Work is proceeding apace on expansion of the production site, from 80,000 m2 to 160,000 m2, in readiness for the Urus Super SUV’s arrival in 2018. Within the new area developed, a new office building has been inaugurated that received a record number of points in Italy (92 points) in LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum certification: the highest standard in the world for energy and environmental certification in construction. This is the first office building within an Italian manufacturing site to receive this recognition, which is awarded to “green” buildings that combine innovation and sustainability.
The new structure excels in energy efficiency (class A+) and water efficiency, thanks to state-of-the-art technical solutions applied to the cladding and glazed surfaces, designed to guarantee natural light in 90% of the spaces and to limit thermal dispersion and overheating.
Recruiting for the Urus project
The production’s site’s commercial growth and expansion go hand in hand with an increased Lamborghini workforce. In June 2017 the company completed 400 permanent new hires for the Urus project. As of the end of June the company has a record 1,500 employees: a doubling of the workforce over the last ten years.
Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini, remarked: “The success of our products is closely linked to the investments we have been making for years in people and their professional development. Passion, talent, and skill are the particular ingredients in being able to build unique and extraordinary cars like ours.”
Lamborghini’s rapid and significant growth in both employment and industrial activity is the result of a fruitful collaboration between the company and trade unions, inspired by transparency and ongoing dialogue. The negotiations and agreements stipulated over recent years with the company RSU (in-company union representative body), and the unions FIOM-CGIL and FIM-CISL, are the result of a common objective: to increase Lamborghini’s competitiveness and enable continuous and sustained growth of employment; to safeguard the company know-how; to develop shared corporate welfare systems; and to continuously improve the economic and regulatory conditions for the workers.

Lamborghini increases worldwide sales by 7% from 3,245 to 3,457 deliveriesLamborghini sales grow for sixth consecutive yearUSA confirms its position as largest single market Historic sales record for the V10 model HuracánRecord sales performance across all major regions: EMEA, America and Asia PacificSant'Agata Bolognese, 9 January 2017 – In Fiscal Year 2016 (1 Jan – 31 Dec), Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. set another historic sales record. With 3,457 cars delivered to customers around the world, the Italian super sports car producer surpassed the 3,400 units mark for the first time. This marks a new milestone not only for sales, but also for brand and product.
“In 2016 Lamborghini has proven to be in excellent shape. The company delivered another record year in terms of sales and continued to outperform key business objectives.* This new all-time high is once more confirming the substance and sustainability of our brand, product and commercial strategy. This is a real team achievement and it is all the more remarkable as we are at the same time preparing not only for new models in our super sports car range, but for a company-wide quantum leap in our product portfolio – the third model line,” says Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A.
With 135 dealers serving 50 countries, worldwide deliveries to customers increased from 3,245 to 3,457 units in 2016. This represents a sales growth of 7% compared to the previous year. With a continuous sales growth in the last six years it also represents more than 2.6 times the sales of the year 2010.
Lamborghini is a global brand and sales distribution is well-balanced among the three regions, which each account for approximately one third of global sales. All major regions EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa), America and Asia Pacific set new records and contributed to the sales growth.
With 1,041 units the USA remains the largest single market, followed by Japan, UK, Germany, Canada, the Middle East and China.
Thanks to the Huracán model the year 2016 has been the most successful yet in Lamborghini's history for V10 sales. A total of 2,353 units (up from 2,242 in 2015) of the Huracán Coupé and Spyder have been delivered to customers.
The twelve-cylinder model Aventador increased from 1,003 units in 2015 to 1,104 units in 2016 and underlined its success with the 6,000th unit produced in December 2016.
New Models 2016
Following the unveiling of the Lamborghini Centenario Coupé at the Geneva Motor Show 2016, Lamborghini presented the open version of the one-off series – the Centenario Roadster – in August 2016 at the Monterey Car Week. Only 20 units each of the coupe and roadster models are being built, for delivery from 2017. The car celebrates the centenary of founder Ferruccio Lamborghini's birth.
Another model making its first appearance at the start of 2016 was the special series Huracán Avio, available in a limited edition of 250 vehicles and delivered from summer 2016.
In June 2016 Lamborghini presented the Aventador Miura Homage. To mark the 50th anniversary of the Miura – the forerunner of all Lamborghini V12 super sports cars – 50 units of this special series Aventador Coupé are being built.
In November 2016 at the Los Angeles Auto Show the Lamborghini Huracán Rear Wheel Drive Spyder was launched to the market.
In December 2016 the new Lamborghini Aventador S was announced. It is characterized by new aerodynamic design, redeveloped suspension including the new four-wheel steering system, increased power (now 740 hp) and new driving dynamics. The 'S' is the suffix of previous enhanced Lamborghini models and defines a new benchmark for the V12 Lamborghini.
Lamborghini Motorsport 2016
Lamborghini Squadra Corse, the motorsport department, also marked new highs in participants and competition success.
The Lamborghini Super Trofeo one-make series in three continents (Europe, Asia and America) produced grids of more than 80 Huracán Super Trofeos on average, and 150 more drivers worldwide than 2015. For the beginning of 2017 a new Middle East series is planned in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
The Lamborghini GT3 series attracted more than 40 cars from customer teams racing worldwide. Lamborghini teams won 18 overall races with 22 pole positions and a total of 52 podium finishes. In both the GT Asia Series and International GT Open 2016 Lamborghini teams won the championship.
Third model in 2018 – Lamborghini prepares for a new era
Starting in 2018, the Lamborghini SUV Urus will be the third model in Lamborghini's product range. Delivering additional growth and significant opportunities across the marque, it will also determine a substantial increase in the production capacity of the factory. The new facilities in Sant'Agata Bolognese will be completed within 2017.
Lamborghini Miura 50th anniversary
The year 2016 featured the celebrations of the Miura's 50th anniversary. With its heritage department Lamborghini PoloStorico, the company illustrated its scope of expertise in restoring and certifying several classic Lamborghini models. Events scheduled throughout the year included top international Concours d'Elegance (such as Goodwood Festival of Speed, Salon Privè, Villa d'Este, Pebble Beach, Amlia Island and Swiss Concourse d'Elegance) and an Italian tour held in June with 20 Miuras coming from all over the world to take part.
