Manzhouli, Feb 21, 2017 —— The DENZA 400 electric vehicle (hereinafter referred to as “DENZA 400”) successfully conducted an open test-drive under snowy winter conditions in Inner Mongolia. With temperatures dipping below minus 25 degrees Celsius, the convoy was led by a group of DENZA owners, consumers, and members of the media, showcasing the innovative technology behind DENZA’s new vehicle by pushing it to its limits on the ice. The event marked a milestone for the EV brand in China.

With consumer needs as focus, DENZA’s goal is to produce the best electric cars in China. To put its technology to the test, the snow driving challenged DENZA vehicles with the harshest winter weather conditions, including low temperatures, rain, snow, and high winds. What consumers need most from electric cars are reliability, stability, and comfortable handling. The successful completion of the winter test drive in Manzhouli proves the DENZA 400 can cope in even the most treacherous winter driving situations, thus consumers can drive with peace of mind in their daily lives.

Other concerns for electric car users include battery and driving range. Manzhouli’s climate and terrain offers the ideal opportunity to put these elements to the test. DENZA uses lithium iron phosphate batteries, which perform well even in low temperature environments. During the event, the 62kWh batteries in accordance with the highest standards and upgraded motor and electronic control systems were found to work perfectly even in temperatures reaching minus 25 degrees Celsius. At the same time, DENZA’s intelligent power supply protection function automatically switched the battery to a low-voltage charge to avoid over-consumption. This guaranteed a reliable start-up even in arctic conditions.

In winter climates, low temperatures have a greater impact on the mechanical properties and stability of a vehicle. Snow turns roads into treacherous obstacle courses, meaning that reliable control and safety are vital. for the field test, , DENZA carried out various turns and angles to spell out “DENZA” on the icy surface of Manzhouli’s North Lake . The vehicles took corners with perfect control, remaining stable throughout each curve. A 0.26 second full torque response took the DENZA 400 Aurora just 4 seconds to complete, with 0 to 50 km/h acceleration, and a speed advantage within straight 150-meter acceleration. This ease of handling offers users a safe yet exhilarating driving experience.

For the test drive, figure-8 trails were created with side slipping driving lines. Faced with ultra-low road adhesion, the DENZA 400’s excellent handling and body stability were made obvious. Equipped with Daimler’s chassis, suspension and tuning design, and a specially assembled ESP system from Bosch, the DENZA 400 offers a dynamic, stable, and comfortable performance, even in the harshest snow and ice. High-quality German technology provides consumers with excellent handling and five-star safety.

The snow driving test team set out from Manzhouli’s Taowa Square to reach the finishing point at the border of China, Russia, and Mongolia. The journey allowed the team to experience the full range of DENZA’s technology – quiet, comfortable driving, along with rapid acceleration. The new seat heating system provided much needed warmth and comfort in temperatures that dropped below minus 25 degrees Celsius, which was vital on such a long trip. The test drivers got to experiment with the new trunk induction function (easily operated with just the press of the foot), as well as the panorama roof, ambient lighting system, outside mirror memory, and Easy Access main auto position adjustment.

DENZA's exceptional performance in winter conditions comes with the assurance of numerous cold-climate trials and experiments. DENZA has tested more than 120 vehicles in various climatic and road conditions across 1.8 million kilometres of terrain. Every year, DENZA sends search and development teams to China’s northern region for winter testing. Rigorous tests across the entire vehicle and its various components guarantee that DENZA cars meet users’ driving requirements even in arctic environments.

With DENZA, quality and peace of mind can be achieved in the harshest of winter conditions making outstanding performance in regular daily use a breeze. With its pioneering technology and strong consumer focus, DENZA is set to become China’s best electric car.

Such high levels of interest are tremendously flattering and, as we continue to make exciting progress with our development plans, it’s certainly tempting to reveal snippets.

However, we continue to believe it’s best not to share details of our plans publicly just yet. In previous years there have been disappointments, when early announcements came to nothing, and we’re determined not to make similar mistakes. However, we’re pleased to report enormous progress towards TVR’s return and our relative silence shouldn’t be interpreted as anything more than our absolute focus on making this comeback permanent.

Revered British sports car brand, TVR, is roaring back to production with an incredible all-new Cosworth powered sports car, engineered in collaboration with F1 and road car design legend, Gordon Murray.

Revered British sports car brand, TVR, is roaring back to production with an incredible all-new Cosworth powered sports car, engineered in collaboration with F1 and road car design legend, Gordon Murray.

TVR has developed a product and launch programme that will see at least four new models brought to market over the next ten years
Positioning and pricing set to be consistent with TVR’s past market positioning and highly competitive within its segment

The iconic British car brand, TVR, has today announced that it will return to the market with an all-new British designed and built sports car. The company, which boasts an outstanding new management team, has developed the new car in collaboration with Gordon Murray Design and Cosworth, each providing much of the core design and engineering capability for the all-new TVR. This incredible project is already well advanced with over a year of development completed so far.

TVR will issue more specification details and early images later in 2015, but the car will continue the tradition of a classic British two-seat sports car with a composite ground effect aero chassis and body package using Gordon Murray Design’s innovative iStream® technology. Enthusiasts will also be delighted to know that the car will feature the traditional TVR DNA of a front engine with rear wheel drive and a manual transmission, powered by a normally aspirated, dry-sumped, V8 engine, developed and engineered by Cosworth.

Les Edgar, Chairman of TVR said: “We know that a new TVR has to be better than just good – it has to be outstanding. From the outset we only wanted to work with the best partners in the business, and both Gordon Murray’s and Cosworth’s track records within motor sport and high performance car design and engineering speak for themselves. GMD and Cosworth are the perfect partners for TVR and together, we will deliver a truly exceptional new car.”

Production of the car will begin in 2017, and will be offered to the market at a competitive price point within its segment and consistent with TVR’s positioning in the past. TVR has prioritised the company’s position as an all-British institution, and the cars will be completely produced in new UK factory premises.

Gordon Murray, Chairman of Gordon Murray Design comments: “TVR is an iconic brand which has been an important part of British sports car manufacturing for many decades. Its return to manufacturing is an exciting development and the car deserves the best chassis and powertrain that can possibly be delivered. To that end, I am delighted that our company is involved with the project, and that TVR are using our iStream® technology.”

Bruce Wood, Cosworth Technical Director, said: “We are proud to see Cosworth’s industry-leading engineering at the heart of the revived TVR brand. Our team has been working closely with TVR and Gordon Murray Design to develop a powertrain solution that perfectly complements the exceptional performance characteristics of the new car. It’s an exciting project and one which well suits Cosworth’s engineering expertise.”

Edgar continues: “We are a well-funded, well-supported organisation and boast a vastly experienced management team. We are here to stay and we have a fully evolved ten year plan for product and business development, and are committed to deliver on all the targets we have set ourselves – as we have done to date.

“Despite very deliberately maintaining a low profile since completing the acquisition of TVR two years ago, we have had an enormous amount of unsolicited interest from businesses, individuals and investors internationally. Such is the strength of the brand and the passion of its followers. It is a real privilege to be a part of the revival of a great British marque – one that will succeed through our single-minded desire to produce exceptional sports cars.”
