DUBLIN, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) — Ireland will build 1,000 on-street charge points for electric vehicles (EV) over the next five years, announced a senior official here on Monday.
Richard Bruton, the Irish Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment, said the plan is part of the government's efforts in achieving its commitment to a target of 936,000 electric vehicles on Irish roads by 2030.
Upon the completion of the construction of these new charge points, there will be a total of 2,000 on-street charge points across the country, said the minister in a statement posted on the ministry's website.
Currently there are 2.1 million passenger vehicles in Ireland, said the statement, adding that the number is expected to grow to 2.3 million and 2.6 million by 2030.
If the Irish government's 2030 target for 936,000 electric vehicles can be achieved, it means an estimated 35 percent to 40 percent of the country's total passenger vehicle population will be electric..

Simplified quotation and comparison process features are part of the new digital platform etrucKNow for the convenience of the shippers. The most competitive quotation is achieved by relying on an AI-enabled engine that takes the shipment details provided by the customer and automates the quotation comparison process by validating multiple data points. Simply put, proprietary rate engine will make a use of an AI to match shipper’s requirements with carrier availability while eliminating the manual processes.

During the launch period, customers will get additional savings through promotion codes.

The AI freight platform etrucKNow boasts real-time visibility, which is an important concern to customers and carriers. Shippers and carriers will always know in real-time where their shipments or drivers are through the etrucKNow’s real-time track and trace capabilities. They will also receive pro-active service alerts on delivery milestones.

Approved carriers on the etrucKNow platform will be given the opportunity to convert their empty space or trips into potential revenue through the marketplace platform which provides them with access to a network of shippers requiring road freight services. Truck operators can register for an account on etrucKNow.com and will be subject to a vetting and onboarding process.
