Hyundai car plant in St. Petersburg to work in two shifts by May 15, says company
ST. PETERBURG, May 12. /TASS/. The auto production plant of Hyundai car concern in St. Petersburg has resumed operations after May holidays, with the plan to work in two production shifts by May 15, press service of the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
“The Russian plant of Hyundai Motor plans to work in two production shifts in the period from May 12 to 15. The plant will produce over 700 cars each day for the Russian market and for export,” the statement said.
The enterprise suspended production due to Russian President Vladimir Putin's decree on days off starting March 30. Hyundai has tightened coronavirus precautionary measures and resumed auto production with the permission of the local authorities starting April 13. Operations at the plant were suspended during May holidays and on May 6-8.
Hyundai car concern launched its St. Petersburg plant in 2010. It is the second-biggest car production plant in Russia that makes Hyundai Solaris, Hyundai Creta and Kia Rio models. ..
