GM will add more than 1,200 jobs to Michigan assembly plants

A day after pushing off its final Chevrolet Impala, General Motors announced Friday it will add more than 1,200 jobs to it’s Lansing manufacturing operations to meet demands for its mid-size SUVs and the launch of two Cadillac sedans.The remaining 800 will aid the Lansing Delta Township Assembly in building the Chevrolet Traverse and Buick Enclave.The Lansing Grand River Assembly and Lansing Delta Township Assembly will add a second and third shift, respectively, to accommodate the growth in demand.

Polish electric car producer presents partner to design its first models

ElectroMobility Poland, a company founded by four Polish energy companies (Enea, Energa, PGE and Tauron) with the aim of starting production of 100,000 electric cars by 2022 or 2023, has revealed the company which will design the cars according to news portal polandin.com.It is almost certain that manufacturing will be based in one of the regions where Poland’s automotive industry is concentrated, Silesia or Wielkopolska.Almost 10,000 electric cars are currently driven on Polish roads.

Axing of Geneva car show forces manufacturers to rethink car launches

FRANKFURT, Feb 28 (Reuters) – Carmakers were scrambling to reorganise press conferences and vehicle presentations after Swiss authorities forced the cancellation of the Geneva car show on Friday in an effort to contain the coronavirus.
More than 160 exhibitors were scheduled to show off their cars and services at the 90th Geneva Motor Show, which was due to start on Monday and last until March 15.
