Geospatial imagery plays a key role in understanding where people live, how they move or utilize infrastructure, and how energy consumption is transforming our world. Our portfolio company Near Space Labs is aiming to disrupt the industry by democratizing access to Earth imaging captured with its high-quality, cost-effective and zero-emission flights.
With offices in New York and Barcelona, Near Space Labs produces Swiftys — an autonomous wind and software-powered platform that operates in the stratosphere between 60,000 and 85,000 feet and collects up to 1,000 square kilometers of imagery per flight. When Near Space Labs joined the Toyota Ventures portfolio in 2021, it offered images with a resolution of 30 cm per pixel, and it has since expanded Swifty’s capabilities to 10 cm per pixel.
If you are interested in joining a team with a mission to unlock critical insights on how to tackle humanity’s biggest challenges — including urbanization and climate change — the company is hiring for multiple positions. Strategic Account Executive (Remote)
Near Space Labs is looking for a senior account executive to help formulate sales strategy and drive and close new business and revenue across a variety of verticals and applications. Previous experience in an early-stage, fast-paced, technical environment is critical for success as candidates will own and drive the entire sales process. This includes identifying, qualifying, and nurturing a pipeline of leads, providing demonstrations, negotiations, managing expectations and closing complex customer deals. This role will be responsible for driving complex, multi-year deals with large enterprise B2B customers and building/managing critical relationships across partners, customers, resellers and key stakeholders. Other expected duties include working cross-functionally across the company to create sales materials and content, and to effectively sell, service customers and provide product feedback.
Strong candidates must have five or more years experience in geospatial, enterprise, DaaS and/or SaaS technical sales and a demonstrated track record of exceeding quotas. Other requirements include: previous experience within a high-growth company or team, scaling an organization, and contributing to product and processes; technical understanding of geospatial imagery, data products, or a similar remote sensing field; and a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university. Preferred skills include familiarity with the sales funnel, sales operations, tools, and tracking activities in CRM as well as previous experience with the geospatial industry and strong network connections.
Sales Development Representative (Remote or New York City)
Near Space Labs is seeking its first sales development representative to provide support for building inbound and outbound revenue pipelines. In this role, candidates will report to the Head of Marketing and will learn and develop skills that will become the foundation of their sales career. Additional responsibilities include increasing revenue opportunities through outbound activities to generate prospects and qualified leads; qualifying and communicating with inbound inquiries; scheduling sales calls and tracking follow-up activities. You will also work closely with the marketing and sales teams to generate, qualify and convert qualified leads. Candidates will improve sales skills to attain and exceed lead generation and outbound quotas and gain experience by attending industry events and conferences to connect with prospects.
Preference for this role will be given to candidates based in New York and individuals that have a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university along with two or more years of related training, or four or more years of related work experience. This role will ideally be filled by a high-energy individual who is excited about joining a team working in the geospatial industry and innovative solutions. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability to learn complex topics and apply them to GTM strategies as well as outstanding organizational, multitasking, prioritization and time-management skills.
