Chevrolet Reveals All-New Seeker Compact SUV in China

SHANGHAI – Chevrolet today revealed the all-new Seeker compact SUV, expanding the brand’s SUV portfolio in China. Two RS variants that reflect Chevrolet’s racing DNA will be offered.
“The Seeker features an upgraded powertrain, new design and enhanced connectivity,” said Jack Uppal, general director of Chevrolet for SAIC-GM. “Its exciting styling, class-leading performance, comfortable interior and intelligent technology will appeal to today’s younger vehicle buyers.”
The Seeker is equipped with a new 1.5T four-cylinder direct injection turbocharged Ecotec engine. The all-new Xiaoxue operation system (OS), which supports remote over-the-air (OTA) updates and wireless CarPlay, comes standard. In addition, it is the first GM model in the domestic market available with a contemporary golden exterior color custom-made for China’s young trendsetting generation.
“When we designed the Seeker, we focused on making it expressive and distinctive, efficient, and fun to drive,” said Stuart Norris, vice president of Design for GM China and GM International. “It is an SUV that is representative of the latest generation of Chevrolet design through its stunning, youthful and dynamic exterior and interior.”
The Seeker has a character line along the sides that separates the sedan body style on top from the SUV body style on the lower half of the vehicle. The upward curve of the body’s feature line and roof line creates a sense of flow. With 18-inch wheels and a raised chassis, it has a distinct and authoritative silhouette that connotes rugged capability. It is complemented by a harmonious X-shaped front and rear.
The Seeker’s all-new interior design emphasizes the width and space of the cabin, making efficient use of the 2,700-mm wheelbase. It comes with a flat-bottom steering wheel and a floating dual 10.25-inch layered screen. The center screen is tilted toward the driver at about 9 degrees. Perforated soft leather surfaces on the instrument panel, power ventilated and heated seats with lumbar support, wireless phone charging, and a power liftgate are just a few of the additional user-friendly amenities.
As SAIC-GM’s first product equipped with the Tune Dynamic (TD) sound system, the Chevrolet Seeker provides an all-new auditory experience for both the driver and passengers as they find their own new roads.
