Rita Kristin Broch, CEO of Volvo Cars Norway, has been elected as the new chairman of the Bilimportørenes Landsforening (BIL).
– I look forward to taking on this position with both humility and enthusiasm. BIL’s community and work to ensure good framework conditions for the car industry is very important, and the industry has done a very good job over several years. A unified industry gains more impact, especially in political matters, and I look forward to good cooperation with the other car importers, says Broch.
Broch was elected as the new chairman of the board at an extraordinary general meeting in BIL on 7 September, after former chairman of the board, managing director of Harald A. Møller Ulf Tore Hekneby chose to resign. Broch looks forward to leading the BIL board in an important time for the industry.
– One of the most important tasks for the industry is to demonstrate, and create an understanding of, how the car is a positive solution to people’s mobility and not a polluting problem for society. BIL is already well underway here and I look forward to contributing to this work in the future. It is an exciting time for the Norwegian car industry with major changes, and I hope that in my new role I will be a positive contributor to BIL’s important work, she says.
