Only 7% think of the electric as their next car
MADRID, 12 Apr (EUROPA PRESS) –
36% of Spanish consumers intend to buy a hybrid or electric vehicle, over 26% who intend to buy a diesel car and about 37% of respondents who think about buying a gasoline car, according to the Observatory Cetelem del Motor presented Thursday in Madrid by the consumer credit company.
For its part, 7% of respondents said that their next car will be electric, while 29% of Spaniards intend to acquire a hybrid vehicle.
Among those who intend to buy a 100% electric car, 49% would be willing to do so with cars with autonomy between 101 and 250 kilometers, while only 15% would be willing to buy an electric vehicle with a range of less than 100 kilometers
Among the aspects for which the Spaniards would not be willing to buy an electric car, they highlight the fact that autonomy is not enough, with 57% of the cases, besides that the car is “too expensive”, with 54% of the respondents, and the impossibility of recharging the battery, with 40%.
As Cetelem assures, “diesel starts to lose importance in the mind of the Spanish consumer”, since only 26% of respondents believe that they will choose a vehicle with this fuel at the time of purchase, compared to the 61% that they intended to buy a diesel car in 2007.
Regarding gasoline, 37% of Spaniards intend to buy a model powered by this fuel, although there are differences between younger consumers, between 18 and 24 years old, that 73.1% say that their next car will be gasoline, compared to 29.5% of those over 45 who will opt for this option.
