@GM: Chevrolet Refreshes SUV Portfolio in China with All-New Seeker

CHANGSHA – Chevrolet today launched the all-new Seeker. The compact SUV joins the all-new Tracker RS small SUV, Equinox midsize SUV and Blazer mid-large SUV in the brand’s China lineup, giving it a refreshed portfolio across the segment.

The all-new Seeker is available in five variants, including two RS trims. The choice of seven exterior colors includes Contemporary Gold, which GM custom-made for the first time for the domestic market and China’s young trendsetting generation. The Seeker is priced between RMB 139,900 and RMB 164,900.

Expressive and Distinctive Design

The application of Chevrolet’s global new design language makes the Seeker expressive, distinctive, efficient and fun to drive. Its character line along the sides separates the sedan body style on top from the SUV body style on the lower half of the vehicle.

The upward curve of the body’s feature line and roof line creates a sense of flow. With 18-inch wheels and a raised chassis, it has a distinct and authoritative silhouette that connotes rugged capability. It is complemented by a harmonious X-shaped front and rear.

The interior design breaks away from traditional perceptions of an SUV. It emphasizes the width and space of the cabin, making efficient use of the 2,700-mm wheelbase. It comes with a flat-bottom steering wheel and a floating dual 10.25-inch layered screen. The center screen is tilted toward the driver at about 9 degrees.

Perforated soft leather surfaces on the instrument panel, power ventilated and heated seats with lumbar support, wireless phone charging, and a power liftgate are just a few of the additional user-friendly amenities. Customers will also enjoy the trunk capacity of 1,405 liters.

High-Performance and Efficient Powertrain

The Seeker is equipped with a new 1.5T four-cylinder direct injection turbocharged Ecotec engine that has been tested in China for 20,375 hours and five million kilometers for the durability of nine engine systems. Paired with an advanced continuously variable transmission (CVT), it delivers 135 kW of maximum power and 250 Nm of peak torque at an engine speed of 1,500-5,000 rpm, allowing 0-100 km/h acceleration in 7.9 seconds and fuel efficiency as low as 6.5 liters/100 km under WLTC conditions.

In addition, the Seeker adopts a chassis architecture derived from GM’s global compact SUV platform. The standard switchable automatic start/stop functionality adds to the smooth driving experience.

Advanced Technology for Connectivity and Safety

As an SUV that is targeted at today’s younger vehicle buyers, the Seeker comes standard with the all-new Xiaoxue operation system (OS) and OnStar connectivity system, which supports remote over-the-air (OTA) updates, the interactive Baidu smart online navigation system and wireless Apple CarPlay, as well as many practical apps, such as iQIYI, KuWo Music and Ximalaya Kids.

As SAIC-GM’s first product equipped with the Tune Dynamic (TD) sound system, the Seeker provides an all-new auditory experience under GM’s partnership with global leading audio infotainment solution provider ARKAMYS.

The Seeker also benefits from Chevrolet’s focus on safety, with 76% of its body made of high-strength and ultra-high-strength steel. The standard safety package includes automatic parking assist (APA), forward collision alert (FCA), pedestrian collision mitigation (PCM), lane departure warning (LDW) and the electronic stability control (ESC) system with 19 electronic subsystems. The adaptive cruise control (ACC), side blind zone alert (SBZA) and a 360-degree HD full-mode camera are also offered as options.
