Buick Launches All-New Envista Urban Compact SUV

2022-09-23

SHANGHAI – Buick announced tonight the start of sales of the all-new Envista in China. The high-spirited urban compact SUV is available with six exterior color and three interior color options. Four variants are priced from RMB 152,900 to RMB 178,900.

“The Envista is another key pillar in Buick’s SUV portfolio,” said Cesar Toledo, general director of Buick Sales and Marketing at SAIC-GM. “With its expressive styling, intuitive technologies and overall functionality, it gives the brand a stronger presence in one of the largest and most popular vehicle segments in China.”

He added, “Since its global debut in China last month, the Envista has received a strong positive response from young trendsetters and modern families as a vehicle that fits their diverse lifestyles.”

The Envista is the first production vehicle to fully incorporate Buick’s new design language, including an all-new tri-shield Buick badge mounted on the vehicle body.  Inspired by the PURE design philosophy, its youthful and bold exterior includes a new front fascia, a modern grille and thinner wing-shaped LED daytime running lights, which are becoming the brand’s new signature. The sculpted body surfaces on the sides and sleek silhouette underscore the coupe-like gesture and high-end character.

For those who prefer more sporty and personalized styling, the Envista is available with the GS package. The exclusive GS design elements, such as a high-gloss black mesh grille, 18-inch wheels with a black finish and red brake calipers, and suede-wrapped sporty seats featuring embroidery with the signature GS logo, ensure an overall stylish impression.

Buick’s sophistication and refinement continue inside. Material and technology advancements include the Tune Melody® subwoofer 3D surround audio system, which is being adopted on a Buick model for the first time to enable an immersive audio experience.

The Envista’s modern interior combines generous space and comfort with great versatility. With a 2,700-mm wheelbase and efficient layout, the Envista offers a midsize SUV-like 983 mm of legroom and 111 mm of kneeroom in the second row. The cabin has 28 storage spaces, 60/40 split second-row seats and up to 1,273 liters of cargo space, meeting the varying mobility needs of families.

The Envista provides seamless connectivity and a fully digitalized user experience. Its dual 10.25-inch infotainment display is distinct in its segment. The latest Buick eConnect system has been optimized to provide an enhanced user interface (UI) design, voice recognition, smart navigation and multimedia application, making the human-machine interaction much easier and intelligent.

The efficient and smart propulsion system combines a high-performance eighth generation Ecotec 1.5T engine with a chain-style CVT transmission. It generates segment-leading maximum power of 135 kW and impressive fuel efficiency of 6.52 liters/100 km under WLTC conditions.

An array of advanced chassis and suspension technologies contributes to the nimble and precise handling of the model. The Envista also offers a suite of standard and optional safety and driver assistance technologies and features, including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and forward collision alert.

The Envista joins the Encore GX compact SUV, Envision S and Envision Plus midsize SUVs, and Enclave large SUV to cover mainstream SUV segments in China.
