Mopar CAP Partners With Western Tech Partners and Fort Bliss to Provide Career Opportunities for Soldiers
September 28, 2022 , Auburn Hills, Mich. – Mopar CAP has partnered with Western Technical College in El Paso, Texas, to provide soldiers transitioning out of the Fort Bliss Army Base an opportunity to obtain skills needed to work. The Service to Service program is an Army career skills program offered to service members transitioning from the military. Many of the transitional soldiers are looking for careers where they can use their skills in areas close to home.
Those accepted into this unique program will undergo extensive Mopar technical training for 10 hours a day, five days a week for 12 weeks. Upon completion of the program, the soldier will graduate with level two certified technical training and ready to join a participating Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep®, Ram or FIAT dealership.
“Stellantis Performance Institute is extremely proud to partner with Western Tech to launch the Mopar CAP Service to Service program,” said John Muehmel, senior educational alliances manager- Stellantis. “We are confident that this program will provide soldiers transitioning to civilian life a solid foundation for their future career path as automotive technicians. We look forward to the success and growth of the program to serve soldiers in the future, as well as fill many in-demand positions in our dealerships.”
“By participating in this joint venture, we not only hope to help transitioning soldiers become employable, but also help meet the need and shortages of qualified technicians. It’s a perfect opportunity to be able to give back and assist those that have served our country”, said Brad Kuykendall, CEO of Western Technical College.
The new program was officially kicked off during a ribbon-cutting and classroom dedication held on the Western Technical College campus on Thursday, September 22, 2022, with Western Tech leadership, Mopar leadership, Deputy Commanding General of Operations from Fort Bliss and members of the El Paso Chamber in attendance.
