MOSCOW, October 18. /TASS-DEFENSE/. Russian troops continued delivering strikes against Ukrainian command centers, energy infrastructure facilities, arsenals of foreign-made ammunition and weapons. They also eliminated a space communications station of the Ukrainian government communications center and shot down 10 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov said.
In the past 24 hours, the Russian troops continued delivering strikes with long-range airborne and sea-based precision-guided weapons against Ukrainian command centers and energy infrastructure facilities, as well as arsenals of foreign-made ammunition and weapons. All the assigned targets were destroyed.
In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops seized the settlement of Gorobyevka in the Kharkov Region during offensive actions and inflicted considerable damage on units of the 1st operational brigade of the Ukrainian National Guard.
Near the settlement of Kislovka in the Kharkov Region, Russian forces thwarted an attempted attack by the Ukrainian army’s company task force reinforced with tanks. The enemy was pushed back to the initial positions. The Ukrainian army lost over 60 servicemen, one tank, three armored fighting vehicles and two pickup trucks.
In the Krasny Liman direction, fire attacks delivered against assault groups of the Ukrainian army’s 71st chasseur, 80th air assault and 25th airborne brigades of the Ukrainian army near the settlements of Stelmakhovka and Rozovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Karpovka and Ivanovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic thwarted the enemy’s attempts to cross the Zherebets River.
As many as 46 Ukrainian servicemen, two armored personnel carriers, six armored fighting vehicles and two pickup trucks with large-caliber machineguns were destroyed.
In the Nikolayev-Krivoi Rog direction, units of the Ukrainian army made attempts to breach the defenses of Russian troops towards the settlement of Bruskinskoye in the Kherson Region. The enemy’s attack was repelled. Russian artillery strikes dispersed the Ukrainian units and pushed them back to their initial positions. In the past 24 hours, more than 90 Ukrainian servicemen, one tank, eight armored fighting vehicles and 21 automotive vehicles were destroyed in that direction.
Operational-tactical and army aviation aircraft, missile and artillery units delivered strikes in the area of the city of Zaporozhye to hit the command post of the Ukrainian army’s Dnieper joint force grouping and workshops designed for radar repairs at the Iskra Enterprise, as well as 56 Ukrainian artillery units at firing positions, manpower and military hardware in 132 areas.
In counterbattery warfare, two Ukrainian artillery batteries near the settlements of Trifonovka and Novonikolayevka in the Kherson Region and a platoon of American HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems near the settlement of Drobyshevo in the Donetsk People’s Republic were hit.
Three ammunition depots were eliminated near the settlements of Novoivanovka in the Nikolayev Region, Odnorobovka in the Kharkov Region and Krasny Liman in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
Near Artyomovsk, Vyyemka and Soledar in the Donetsk People’s Republic, three US-made AN/TPQ-37 counterbattery radars and an AN/TPQ-50 radar were eliminated.
Near Paliyevka in the Odessa Region, a space communications station of the Ukrainian government communications center was destroyed.
Near the settlement of Petropavlovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, a launcher of a Ukrainian S-300 air defense missile system was wiped out.
In the past 24 hours, Russian air defenses shot down 10 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles near the settlements of Kirovo, Sukhanovo, Kucherskoye and Dmitrenko in the Kherson Region, Yevgenovka in the Nikolayev Region, Zelyony Gai and Vladimirovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Krasnosyolovka, Ternovoye and Energodar in the Zaporozhye Region.
Since the beginning of the special military operation, the Russian troops have eliminated 323 Ukrainian warplanes, 161 helicopters, 2,266 unmanned aerial vehicles, 381 air defense missile systems, 5,876 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 871 multiple rocket launchers, 3,485 field artillery systems and mortars, and 6,635 special military motor vehicles.
