Six interest groups have mobilised against the European Commission’s recent restrictions on the involvement of representatives of non-European companies in the Radio Equipment expert group, saying they go against the EU’s global values.
The letter, dated 17 October and seen by EURACTIV, contests the fact that the Commission has changed the requirements for the organisations eligible to join the Expert Group on Radio Equipment to exclude companies that are not the EU-27, or Iceland, Lichtenstein, and Norway, members of the European Economic Area.
If the organisations are still eligible to participate, but their representatives are of a member organisation from a non-EU/EEA country, they would have to be replaced.
