MOSCOW, October 21. /TASS-DEFENSE/. Russian troops have hit six unmanned aerial vehicles of the Ukrainian army, shot down 33 HIMARS rockets and two anti-radar missiles in the past 24 hours during the special military operation, Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov said.
In the Krasny Liman direction, Russian troops thwarted another attempt by up to two Ukrainian motor rifle companies to cross the Zherebets River near the settlements of Novovodyanoye in the Lugansk People’s Republic and Torskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic. Russian artillery units delivered massive fire to stem the Ukrainian army units’ advance and push them back. As many as 25 Ukrainian servicemen, two infantry fighting vehicles and two pickup trucks were eliminated.
In the Nikolayev-Krivoi Rog direction, Russian troops thwarted two attempts of the Ukrainian army’s company task forces to advance near the settlements of Davydov Brod and Sukhoi Stavok in the Kherson Region.
Also, the attempts by up to 20 Ukrainian subversive and reconnaissance groups to penetrate into rear areas at night were prevented. Concentrated artillery fire and active actions of the Russian troops destroyed more than 120 Ukrainian servicemen, six armored fighting vehicles and 13 automotive vehicles.
In the area of Novaya Kamenka in the Kherson Region, a precision strike delivered by the Russian Aerospace Force destroyed a hangar with foreign-made weapons delivered to the Ukrainian army.
In the Zaporozhye direction, units of the Ukrainian armed forces attempted to attack by small groups the Russian positions near the settlement of Vremevka. The Russian troops repelled all the attacks and the enemy was pushed back to the initial positions. More than 40 Ukrainian servicemen, two tanks, three armored fighting vehicles and five pickup trucks were eliminated.
Operational-tactical and army aviation aircraft, missile and artillery units hit three command posts near the settlements of Drobyshevo in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Novovoznesenskoye in the Kherson Region, as well as 69 artillery units at firing positions, manpower and military hardware in 167 areas.
Also, the Russian troops hit units of the Ukrainian army and foreign mercenaries in eight temporary deployment sites near Kamyshevakha in the Zaporozhye Region, Sadok, Bezymennoye and Pyatikhatki in the Kherson Region, Kramatorsk and Artyomovsk in the Donetsk People’s Republic and the cities of Nikolayev and Zaporozhye.
Near the settlements of Ukrainka in the Kherson Region and the city of Zaporozhye, Russian troops destroyed two depots with Ukrainian ammunition and missile/artillery weapons.
Near Novogrigorovka in the Nikolayev Region, Russian troops wiped out a fuel depot for Ukrainian military hardware.
Russian air defenses eliminated six Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles near the settlements of Novoandreyevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Skadovsk and Vysokoye in the Kherson Region and the Kakhovka hydro power plant. They also shot down 33 rockets of the US-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket system and two HARM anti-radar missiles near Otradokamenka, Korsunka, Antonovka and Novaya Kakhovka in the Kherson Region and also Kremennaya in the Lugansk People’s Republic.
Since the beginning of the special military operation, the Russian troops have eliminated 324 Ukrainian warplanes, 162 helicopters, 2,302 unmanned aerial vehicles, 383 air defense missile systems, 5,939 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 874 multiple rocket launchers, 3,513 field artillery systems and mortars, and 6,685 special military motor vehicles.
