ACI: the greenest cars according to “Green NCAP”

27.10.2022

3 stars: Skoda Fabia 1/0 MPI petrol; 2.5 stars: Nissan Qashqai 1.3 DIG-TMT hybrid; 2 stars: Hyundai Tucson HEV 1.6 T-GDI hybrid

The Hyundai TUCSON HEV 1.6 T-GDI hybrid only gets 2 stars. A score below the category average due to poor particulate control, high production of unregulated polluting ammonia and excessive CO emissions on motorways.

The Nissan Qashqai 1.3 DIG-T 158 MT Mild Hybrid achieves the rating of 2.5 stars. Like other SUVs it shows an increase in fuel consumption when driving on the highway and at higher speeds. Greenhouse gas emissions are also closely related to fuel demand.

The petrol-powered Skoda Fabia 1/0 MPI gets 3 stars. Its weak points are the control of the particulate matter and the starting at low temperatures. Thanks to this model, however, Škoda demonstrates that low fuel consumption and, generally, good control of pollutants are possible, even in an affordable segment, without electrification.
