Jörg Hofmann, First Chairman of IG Metall: The gas and electricity price brakes were our trade union demands. Hundreds of thousands of colleagues have campaigned for this. It is also true that subsidies for industry are linked to clear location and transformation commitments. Where we don’t have them yet, we need to demand them now. We are pushing for the Commission’s proposals to be implemented quickly. However, we are also calling for further relief steps should the gas and electricity price brake not come in January.
