Toyota Tsusho Corporation (“Toyota Tsusho”) announced today that it will collaborate with Resilire, Inc. (“Resilire”) to contribute to customers’ supply chain resilience. Under this collaboration, Toyota Tsusho will start providing a one-stop service for risk mitigation from November 2022 that combines the visualization and risk management services for supply chains developed by Resilire with Toyota Tsusho’s logistics solutions.
In recent years, the risks that affect supply chains, such as infectious diseases and natural disasters, in addition to the diversification of products, markets, and sources of supply, have been increasing each year. Potential risks are increasing due to the person engaged in a transaction failing to fully ascertain the status of the buyers and the suppliers as the supply chain becomes more complex even under normal circumstances. During an emergency, it takes time to assess the situation when a disaster occurs, delaying initial response and resulting in serious damage. Amid these changes in the environment surrounding companies, it has become necessary to take measures against such potential risks in the supply chains in order to prevent possible loss of profit or trust due to supply disruptions.
The service by Resilire helps manage risks in supply chains by registering supply chain information together with suppliers, enabling to conduct mock drills and provide notification to all parties involved simultaneously in case of a disaster, while visualizing the entire supply chain online. In addition, by utilizing Toyota Tsusho’s logistics solutions to prepare solutions for issues that become apparent through this service, damage can be minimized through fast and effective initial response measures in the event of a disaster. Furthermore, the intuitive and easy-to-use interface and affordable price of the Resilire’s service make it an effective means for small and medium-sized enterprises to initiate measures to address supply chain risks.
Toyota Tsusho is working to solve issues related to supply chains through the promotion of DX, such as launching the online platform “Streams” in August 2021 to provide customers with information and solutions in a timely manner to “connect, strengthen, and create” supply chains. This collaboration with Resilire is a new initiative to embody the concept of strengthening supply chains, and it will contribute to the strengthening of customers’ supply chains and Business Continuity Plans (BCPs).
Toyota Tsusho will strive to accelerate the promotion of DX in supply chain-related operations and create even more added values for customers while responding to the changing corporate environment.
