As Toyota’s first standalone venture capital firm, Toyota Ventures’ mission is to discover what’s next by helping early-stage startups bring disruptive technologies and business models to market quickly. Since our founding in July of 2017, we have grown our total assets under management to over $500M and welcomed 65 companies to our portfolio from around the world. We’ve also broadened our investment thesis, which through the Toyota Ventures Frontier Fund now includes AI, cloud computing, autonomy, mobility, robotics, smart cities, digital health, fintech and materials. The Toyota Ventures Climate Fund has also launched with a focus on innovative solutions for carbon neutrality.
Encompassing a small but highly capable team, Toyota Ventures values hard work, high integrity, being humble but bold, and keeping it weird. And with our portfolio growing rapidly, Toyota Ventures is looking to expand our team to include individuals that share our passion for innovative emerging technologies, as well as our commitment in putting founders and their success first. We are also dedicated to embracing and promoting diversity and inclusion efforts within our portfolio and the larger VC industry through initiatives like the Diversity VC Standard.
