@FCA: Stellantis returns to 2023 Canadian International Auto Show after three-year hiatus; brings Camp Jeep® test track to Canada for the first time

January 11, 2023 , Windsor, Ontario – Stellantis is returning to the 2023 Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS) in Toronto, Ontario next month, after a three-year hiatus and is bringing the interactive, indoor Camp Jeep® off-road experience, alongside its brands’ latest, class-leading model lineup.

Camp Jeep comes to Canada for the first time and will offer attendees a chance to experience the legendary off-road capabilities of Jeep vehicles without leaving the auto show floor. Passengers will ride along in the latest Jeep vehicles, experiencing five, man-made obstacles that rigorously showcase their unmatched capabilities.

Canada’s largest and most-attended auto show, the CIAS returns in-person after being shuttered for three years by the global COVID-19 pandemic. The show is open to the public February 17- 26, 2023 at the Metro Convention Centre in downtown Toronto.

“Stellantis is thrilled to not only to be back on the CIAS show floor to showcase its latest vehicles, including a host of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, but to also bring Camp Jeep north of the border for the first time,” said William Levasseur, Vice President of Sales and Marketing – Stellantis Canada. “We’re excited to welcome Canadians back and to have them experience Jeep vehicles’ signature capabilities – including a four-metre mountain climb – plus our new models on display for the first time at CIAS, including the exciting Dodge Hornet, Alfa Romeo Tonale and much more.”

Camp Jeep
For the first time in Canada, auto show attendees can participate in the interactive Camp Jeep experience, a Trail Rated, man-made, off-road course where professional 4×4 drivers allow riders to experience the legendary capabilities of Jeep vehicles.

The 1,858 square-metre (20,000 square-foot) exhibit will include five obstacles to provide a first-hand look at the unparalleled capability of Jeep vehicles for ground clearance, traction, stability, articulation, breakover, off-camber and suspension travel:

  • A four-metre high, 35-degree Jeep mountain
  • A 1.5-metre high ground-clearance stair climb
  • An extreme breakover obstacle
  • An off-camber stability side slope
  • A 30-degree banked articulation wedge

Camp Jeep will include a variety of Jeep brand vehicles, highlighted by the plug-in hybrid Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe and Jeep Wrangler 4xe – the latter of which was Canada’s best-selling PHEV in 2022.

Since 2004, more than three million guests have experienced Camp Jeep activations on five continents, in 15 countries and 28 U.S. states.

Over 10 tractor trailers hauling a total of 72,570 kilograms (160,000 lbs.) are used to create the Camp Jeep Track along with 100 yards of mulch, 10-tons of boulders and trees up to five-metres (16-feet) tall. Over 400-man-hours will go into constructing and dismantling Camp Jeep.

Camp Jeep will be open during all press, preview and public hours of the CIAS beginning February 16, 2023.  All eligible participants can sign-up for the experience right on-site and are then also registered for the “2023 WIN YOUR WHEELS Contest,” for a chance to win a voucher worth up to $80,000 CAD towards the purchase or lease of a new Stellantis vehicle.
