@Toyota: Making Dreams a Reality for Hispanic STEM Students

The fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) continue to be important areas of study for many students, particularly with a collective need for real solutions to society’s toughest challenges. That’s why education, especially STEM education, has remained a priority for Toyota.

Toyota believes that life expands when you venture, when you “go places,” when you never stop. And because driving can be an important part of everyday life, those “places” can be much more than just physical spaces. That’s the idea behind Toyota’s new “Never Settle” campaign, which translates to Nunca Pares in Spanish.

With that in mind and in recognition of the collective spirit of determination to forge a better tomorrow, Toyota invites student members of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) nationwide to enter an essay contest for its Nunca Pares Scholarship in the amount of $25,000. The scholarship will be awarded in February for their studies in the Fall of 2023.

SHPE is a longtime Toyota philanthropic partner committed to supporting STEM education in Hispanic communities across the U.S.

Three Hispanic-heritage student scholars will receive the scholarship to help them pursue their dreams for a better future because, ultimately, their success is their community’s success. Contest participants will respond to a series of prompts asking them to describe their future aspirations and dreams, who and or what inspires them to pursue their goals, why they are passionate about their future, and how they strive to make the world a better place.

Representatives from SHPE and Toyota will select the winning entries. The winners will be notified by February 17 and will be invited to attend a celebration ceremony held at Toyota’s North American headquarters in Plano, Texas on Tuesday, February 28.
