Battery demand is expected to reach at least $360 billion globally by 2030 in order to power electric vehicles and balance electric power grids. However, the traditional manufacturing of batteries is particularly energy-intensive. AM Batteries is transforming battery manufacturing by reducing the significant carbon footprint and energy consumption of the electrode fabrication process. The company’s dry-electrode manufacturing process results in a 40% reduction in capital required for electrode equipment investment; a 50% reduction in electricity usage of the plant; and reduced cell cost. In addition, AM Batteries’ electrodes also offer the potential for fast-charging and higher-energy density batteries.
Headquartered in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, the company is seeking to commercialize their technology and transition their roll-to-roll manufacturing pilot line to a production line that can be sampled by customers. Having just raised a $25 million Series A funding round in October, the team is looking to hire for multiple positions. If you are interested in joining a mission-driven team disrupting the electrode manufacturing process of batteries, read on to learn more about AM Batteries open roles on the Toyota Ventures jobs board: Senior Powder Process Engineer, Senior Mechanical Process Engineer and Controller/Accounting Manager.
