IG Metall welcomes the EU subsidy plan as a European response to the “Inflation Reduction Act (IRA)”
Wolfgang Lemb, executive board member of IG Metall: “In addition to the subsidies, it is important from our point of view that the EU Commission plans to change the state aid rules, to speed up and simplify approval procedures and to enable tax advantages in strategic sectors. That can mean a boost for investments in Europe.” At the national level, IG Metall will make a constructive contribution to the process that began last week to develop a new industrial strategy, and in particular will push for a faster energy and mobility transition.
