It’s getting tighter and tighter. In the Bundesliga anyway, but even more so in our Opel Post betting game. On this 24th match day, three tipsters cross the finish line with 22 points. And two of them are also equal in the overall ranking with 277 points, so that our usual practice of deciding a jump-off cannot be used this time. That has never happened this late in a season.
So off to the lottery wheel with “aenjii” and “ckiewi”. Drum roll, draw, and out comes – “aenjii”! Congratulations. And we comfort “ckiewi” with a sentence penned by the great American screenwriter William Goldman, appropriate to the current Oscar awards: “Life isn’t fair. It’s just fairer than death, that’s all.” The third in the day’s winner trio, “vluyner”, is only six points behind the other two in the overall ranking. It really doesn’t get much tighter.

Schalke surprised – just not our day’s winners
And 22 daily points is a very respectable result given a game day with four draws. Experienced tipsters know that these are always the hardest to predict. Above all, the draw that Schalke, who were threatened with relegation, took from title favorite Dortmund in the Ruhrpott derby, was surprising. But: Our three daily winners had it all on the list, “aenjii” even with the result. Our top tipsters only had to pass when Bochum won away from home in Cologne.
At the top of the overall standings, “oregin” was just able to maintain his lead. However, the “Witness Yeboahs” has now moved closer to him to a slim point. Here, too, it’s point to button.
