Jaguar Land Rover accelerates digital transformation with Tata Technologies partnership
(IN BRIEF) Jaguar Land Rover has partnered with Tata Technologies to accelerate its digital transformation strategy. Tata Technologies will provide an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to streamline and consolidate information across JLR’s core business areas, including manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, finance, and purchasing modules. This will improve operational visibility and agility, helping JLR respond to issues and opportunities more efficiently. The partnership will also integrate SAP S/4 HANA and SAP BTP with existing software to upgrade JLR’s architecture as part of the company’s digital transformation strategy.
(PRESS RELEASE) GAYDON, UK, 14-Mar-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — Jaguar Land Rover Limited, also known as JLR, a British multinational automobile manufacturer, has announced its partnership with Tata Technologies, a global engineering, product development, and digital services company, to accelerate its digital transformation. The partnership aims to streamline and consolidate information across JLR’s core business areas, including manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, finance, and purchasing modules.
The first phase of the partnership will focus on JLR’s UK core production facilities, with solutions subsequently deployed to other global locations. Tata Technologies will deliver an end-to-end integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to transform JLR’s operations, bringing data and knowledge from multiple departments into a single source. The intuitive new user interface of Tata Technologies’ award-winning software will drive stability in operations, improving visibility both between teams and for suppliers.
The integration of the ERP system will provide a more agile and faster-to-market capability for new vehicles, helping JLR respond to issues, challenges, and opportunities in an agile and timely manner. ERP systems are also capable of aggregating, storing, and interpreting data to provide insights instantly, making them an essential tool for businesses looking to stay ahead of the curve.
The agreement between JLR and Tata Technologies furthers JLR’s alignment with the Tata Group of companies as part of its Reimagine strategy. Tata Technologies has more than 30 years of experience in product and digital engineering, with a global network of over 11,000 employees and clients across multiple countries.
In addition to establishing a standard operating model, Tata Technologies will integrate SAP S/4 HANA and SAP BTP with existing software to upgrade JLR’s architecture as part of the company’s digital transformation strategy. The SAP S/4 HANA software package represents a shift from legacy ERP solutions to a modern cloud-based system, driving operational efficiencies and stability.
Overall, the partnership between JLR and Tata Technologies aims to transform the automaker’s industrial strategy by digitizing its core business functions, providing a single source of data and knowledge across departments, and enabling faster and more efficient decision-making.
