Rome, 5 April 2023 – Enhance the territories of the three most important Italian navigable lakes – Lake Maggiore, Lake Garda and Lake Como – through the promotion of joint initiatives. This is the objective of the agreement signed yesterday by the President of the Automobile Club of Italy, Angelo Sticchi Damiani and by the Government Manager Donato Liguori, which disciplines and regulates collaboration on initiatives and services for the promotion of the image and identity of territories bordering the three lakes.

The agreement reached by the parties – lasting three years and free of charge – includes a series of activities aimed at improving the offer of services for citizens, local communities and visitors through the research and dissemination of tourist and food and wine itineraries that offer people a complete experience of the national territory, the promotion of cultural and historical heritage also through the enhancement of motor sporting events and historic motoring, the development of technological and IT platforms at the service of these initiatives, collaboration for the adhesion to European projects in the tourism sector and for access to the relative funds for development.

“The agreements, which concretely define a collaboration between the administrations, are the first step to enhance our territory and offer new services to attract visitors”, said the President of ACI, Angelo Sticchi Damiani. “ACI is a body that is always very attentive to local communities, committed to promoting motor sport at a local level and raising awareness of safe and sustainable mobility. The participation of public institutions on issues of common interest represents a fundamental operational tool for making administrative action efficient and effective, in compliance with the provisions of the Constitution and Community law”.

As Donato Liguori, Government Manager of the Body, underlined, “Ours is a company engaged in lakeside public transport and, thanks to the Agreement we signed with ACI, and the relevant objectives of a virtuous alliance which also imposes itself as best practice for future agreements, let’s strengthen – further qualifying it – the action of territorial promotion and enhancement and seasonal adjustment of the tourist offer undertaken since my establishment in the Ente Navigazione Laghi”. “On the other hand – added Liguori – the agreement reached confirms, even more, the decisive role of institutional interactions and synergies for actions aimed at involving the entire network of public and private actors involved in territorial development for results and that last over time”.
