ACI and ISPRA encourage sustainable mobility

Signed at the headquarters of the Automobile Club of Italy a memorandum of understanding aimed at road safety and the environment.

The President of ACI, Angelo Sticchi Damiani, and the President of ISPRA, Stefano Laporta, have signed a three-year memorandum of understanding, aimed at promoting collaboration on sustainable mobility.

In particular, each entity with its own institutional powers and purposes will provide knowledge and professionalism to improve mobility in terms of safety and environmental sustainability.

ISPRA carries out technical and scientific functions for the planning and implementation of sustainability policies of pressures on the environment, through monitoring, reporting, evaluation, control, inspection and management activities of environmental information, as well as guidance and coordination of the National Network System for the Protection of the Environment (SNPA).

The Automobile Club of Italy deals with the various aspects related to mobility, spreading the culture of responsible use of the car in line with the principles of sustainable development and enhancement of the territory, promoting automotive education and education for road safety in order to reduce accidents.

The two Institutes have already collaborated in the past for elaborations and studies relating, for example, to the Inventory of emissions into the atmosphere and numerous editions of the Report on the Quality of the Urban Environment.

The agreement confirms and extends the collaboration to the realization of specific study initiatives, also in partnership with other public bodies, in order to improve knowledge of the problems connected to road transport and to encourage solutions for sustainable mobility from the point of view of safety , the environment and the economy.
