A heart for the neighbor

Moses Pelham

“It must come from the heart what should work on the heart.” – This phrase by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe Moses Pelham has repeatedly repeated in recent months. In his acceptance speech, in November 2017, he was awarded the “Goethe plaque of the city of Frankfurt am Main”. On his album, which he prefaced with this quote, and last summer – of course – under the title “Heart” published.

In tune: While the Navi 900 IntelliLink system plays its playlists through the Bose Sound System, Moses Pelham leans back comfortably.

The same body of producer, author, rapper and label operator has made the Opel Insignia GSi Grand Sport beat faster since September – as it did during the photo shoot on the grounds of Kommune2010 in Offenbach. “I saw the GSi at the IAA back then, and I thought it was great there,” says Pelham, who will race through “his” Frankfurt city with the Argon Silver Metallic Opel flagship.

“It was also important to me that the Insignia is made of vegan materials except for the steering wheel,” explains the musician, who has been living vegan for four years and is committed to animal cruelty in the food industry.

“He just looks cool!”

Equally impressed by his insignia is Erol Peker – better known as Rapper Credibil, for whom Pelham acts as a consultant and producer. “Everybody talks to me about the car. He looks just too cool, “said the 24-year-old, who has equipped his model with Opel Exclusive exactly to his wishes. Thanks to the customization program, his snow-white Insignia now has, among other things, the 360-degree camera, head-up display and certified ergonomic seats on board.

Not surprisingly, the music also plays an important role in the car for the artist, which is why he has chosen the Bose Sound System with a total of eight high-performance speakers and Active Sound Management. “The sound of the system is so good that I’m going to the soundcheck in the car,” explains Credibil, who is currently working on his next album and the passion for Opel also like to include in his songs. “Also on my new album there will again be songs with lines about Opel.”

Good laugh: Pelham now drives with the new Opel Insignia GSi through Frankfurt.

Harmonized: Credibil and his Opel Insignia prefer to appear in black and white – or vice versa.

“Because I’m Credibil”: The credible answer to the question of why he, unlike many other rappers drives no luxury car.

VITA CREDIBIL

Born in Marburg (bourgeois Erol Peker) published in 2013 his “German demo tape”. This was followed in 2014 and 2015 live appearances at “Splash! Festival “, the EP” Molokopf “and the album” Renæssance “. Especially the topics that Credibil addresses are rather unusual for rappers – especially in their age. Often pensive, very heavy and always self-reflective lyrics characterize his songs. The connection to his hometown of Frankfurt am Main and to Opel are also two recurring motives. In 2014, “faz.net” wrote about him: “Credibil helps the often-suspicious style of music to reputation and is celebrated for it.” Kool Savas, one of the best-known German rapper, had already shared the 2012 video for the credo song “Mensch” on Facebook, with the words: “Deutschraps future.”

However, Credibil is also enthusiastic about the Matrix light: “I can not get back a flashlight when I am on the highway with high beam lights. The system is awesome! “For a perfectly coordinated appearance, the rappers treated the Insignia exterior with the High Gloss Black finish. Thus, the exterior door handles are in body color, the side wraparound window trim and the grille and its frame in glossy black. “If the summer tires with black rims are on it now, it looks even better.”

Already the third flash in a row

The grown up in Frankfurt’s Bahnhofsviertel Credibil swears for years on the cars with the lightning. “After an Astra J and a first-generation Insignia, this is already my third Opel.” The Rüsselsheim manufacturer, so the rapper continues, “can occur with a broad chest, because the cars are just good. Opel can do everything the premium brands can. The difference: Opel is there for everyone. Or as Opel says, ‘The future belongs to everyone.’ “

His attachment to the traditional brand leads the native of Marburg, among other things, on the proximity to the Opel headquarters. “Opel also comes from the region and is part of Rüsselsheim, just as Moses and I belong to Frankfurt,” said Credibil, who moved to Frankfurt at the age of 14 and spent a large part of his youth in the local station district.

Pelham is also very familiar with the history of the 25 kilometer main downstream founded manufacturer. “As a Frankfurter, I feel very connected to the brand, of course,” said the 47-year-old, who recently launched his “heart” tour in 2018 and previously visited the place where the heart of Opel beats for 156 years. “During a tour in the Rüsselsheim plant, I became really aware of the tradition.”

With Opel on “Heart” Tour 2018

That’s why Pelham relies on his “neighbors” on his almost three-week tour – namely two Opel Movano and one Vivaro. “With the commercial vehicles, we transport our merchandising items and parts of the technical equipment,” says Pelham. The two commercial vehicles offer plenty of room for this: The L1H2 variant of the Movano swallows a whopping 8,600 liters of tour equipment, while up to nine crew members can travel in the Vivaro.

Incidentally, anyone who wants to experience Pelham and his band live in the next few days and secure their tickets should not lose any time: The musicians are playing in Bremen (April 18), Hamburg (April 19) and Hannover (April 20) until the end of April; The concerts in Pelham’s Homebase Frankfurt are already completely sold out.

But no matter if and where Pelham and Credibil are now traveling with the Opel Insignia, Movano or Vivaro – a certain Johann Wolfgang von Goethe already knew: “The best education is found by a smart person traveling.”

Stands on Opel: Rapper Credibil drives the models with the flash for more than three years. After Astra J and a first-generation Insignia, the new flagship is now in the Exclusive version.
