The Japanese automotive firm Mitsubishi expects to reach 1% market share in Spain in 2018, year in which it aims to increase its sales by 2,000 vehicles (+ 18%), from the 11,000 sold in 2017 to the 13,000 units during the current year.
This has been announced by the CEO and CEO of the company in Spain, Jorge Belzunce, in the national presentation of the new SUV of the firm, the Eclipse Cross, which expects to market 3,000 copies during the current year.
Belzunce has indicated that during 2017 the firm grew 10% in sales volume in Spain, with 75% of sales made to private customers, and stressed that this is “really good” business data, since last year Mitsubishi did not present any new product to the market.
According to Mitsubishi data, last year for the first time, gasoline and alternative fuels exceeded diesel sales, with 49% of diesel vehicles placed on the market compared to 46% for gasoline and 5% for other fuels. alternative
Looking ahead to 2018, the executive aims for an overall growth of the Spanish market of 4%, as well as a stagnation of diesel sales by 39%, and estimates that all-year models will account for 42% of total sales of vehicles.

As for the profitability of its dealers in Spain, Belzunce indicates that 2017 closed with 1.85%, exceeding by 0.15 points the 1.7% of 2016, and sets as a goal for 2018 to reach a return of 2 %.
Asked about the need of the Spanish market for a PIVE Plan in 2018, the manager has been in favor of the programs to help alternative energy and has stressed the need to achieve stability in them. “The plans can not appear and disappear,” Belzunce insisted.
