It is precisely at the famous Foro Sol grandstand where Mexican fans put on one of the best displays of this renowned passion every season. And, at the same time, also apologise to all the local residents living beside the track by handing out hundreds of ear defenders ahead of the race.

Tommaso Volpe, managing director and team principal, Nissan Formula E Team: “We always love coming to Mexico City to kick off a new season of Formula E. Now that we’re heading into the 10th year, we wanted to celebrate and highlight the passion of the Mexican fans, who always show such enthusiasm for the sport. The noise and atmosphere they bring to the Foro Sol is truly one of the highlights of the season, and our team is always encouraged by the support of the crowd. Nissan has a lot of history in Mexico – it was the first place that Nissan built a manufacturing plant outside of Japan, and now it’s the most sold car brand in the country. We look forward to experiencing their passion this weekend and to kick off Season 10 in the best way possible.”
In addition to the team’s popularity in the region, Nissan boasts the highest number of year-on-year sales in Mexico, representing 17.1% of the market share. With a longstanding history in the country, recently celebrating 60 years of operations, Nissan marked another milestone by surpassing the production of its 16 millionth engine in Mexico.
