Nobody exports like Mirafiori. This is revealed by the latest data on Stellantis’ foreign sales, which during 2023 sent 63% of the cars made within its Italian factories abroad.
A share, however, which for the Turin hub rises dramatically to 93%: practically almost all of the 85 thousand cars built over the past year. The overall figure, for the Group born from the merger between PSA and FCA, is 752 thousand vehicles built (cars + commercial vehicles), up 9.6% compared to 2022, of which over 474 thousand were marketed abroad.
Behind Turin, in terms of percentage, is the Maserati factory in Modena (which exported 92% of the 1240 cars produced). The other plants include Cassino, with around 48,800 cars and an export of 75%, Pomigliano, with around 215,000 cars and 41% of exports, Atessa, with around 230,000 cars and an export of 85%, and Melfi, with over 170,120 and an exported share of 53%.
“Stellantis is strongly committed to Italy and has done so in recent years – says a Group spokesperson – The company has invested several billion euros in its Italian activities for new products and production sites.”
