Harald Jachwitz Andersen (50) is employed as the new director of the Bilimportørenes Landsforening (BIL). “Strengthening the car’s place in society and as an engine in the green shift is a mission I’m really passionate about. I am very much looking forward to embarking on this work, together with a highly skilled team, and committed and demanding members”, says Harald Jachwitz Andersen. BIL is the interest organization for the Norwegian car importers, and its main task is to ensure the framework conditions for car and road traffic. BIL embraces all vehicle groups from cars, via vans to buses and trucks. “The car industry is in the middle of the green shift and sales of new passenger cars are now almost exclusively fully electric. For commercial vehicles, development is not as fast, and here both charging infrastructure and purchase incentives are central to our reaching the climate targets. It’s work I look forward to getting involved in,” says Andersen. He comes from Hovedorganisationen Virke, where for the past 19 years he has been very central in building, developing and leading the organization from 9,000 to 25,000 member businesses, i.a. through positions as political director and director of Virke Handel. He has not least led and fronted the work with many of Virke’s most important political breakthroughs in recent years. Jachwitz Andersen has a degree in social economics from the University of Oslo and a Master of Technology Management at NTNU, NHH and MIT. He has worked closely with Norwegian retail for many years and has a good understanding of how value chains and business models change as a result of new technology, new requirements for sustainability and changed customer preferences. Furthermore, he has good knowledge of road traffic and the car industry, i.a. for several years on the board of the Road Traffic Information Council. “With the appointment of Harald, the process of new hires and modernization of the administration at BIL is complete. A new service market manager, a new communications manager, a new manager for insight and sustainability and a new director mean that the car importers’ interest organization is now stronger than ever, and is well prepared to take on the challenges of the car industry going forward. We look forward to having Harald on the team , and we strongly believe that with his experience and competence he will make a very positive contribution to our industry association”, says BIL chairman Rita K. Broch from Volvo Cars Norway AS.
