03.04.2024

Over the next three years, shared initiatives to spread the culture of safety at sea and road safety

In Rome, an agreement was signed at the headquarters of the General Command – signed by the General Commander, Chief Inspector Admiral Nicola Carlone, and by the ACI President, Eng. Angelo Sticchi Damiani – within which the two Administrations committed to defining the lines of collaboration which see at the center a common commitment to enhance safety issues in the community, expressed in two realities, the sea and the road, often close and similar.

The signing of today’s Agreement will be followed by operational synergies which will lead to the planning of meetings in the area which will bring the two organizations together, which will promote an ever-increasing awareness of safety issues through internships, workshops, congresses, conferences and seminars.

In the meeting preparatory to the signing, Admiral Carlone underlined how safety represents a priority for the Port Authorities – Coast Guard, always dedicated to guaranteeing the protection of human life at sea and the safety of navigation, and how the continuous dissemination of responsible behavior can be considered a real investment in the prevention of accidents at sea.

“On the road and at sea – declared Angelo Sticchi Damiani, President of the Automobile Club of Italy – mobility must always be responsible and sustainable. This is the key principle of the agreement signed today with the Port Authorities – Coast Guard. We continue to make our safety training know-how available to the country, also making full use of the ACI structures in the area”.
