PLANO, Texas (April 17, 2024)—Toyota is conducting a Noncompliance Safety Recall involving certain LS500 and LS500h vehicles in North America and Asia. Approximately 1,000 vehicles are involved in this recall.
The Occupant Classification System (OCS) sensor in the front passenger seat may not operate as designed and can affect airbag deployment. This can result in a noncompliance with safety requirements in some regions or countries and can increase the risk of an injury to a front seat passenger in a crash.
For all involved vehicles, Lexus dealers will inspect the front passenger seat, and, if necessary, adjust a stopper and seat frame assembly near the sensor and recalibrate the system.
Owners of involved vehicles will be notified by early June 2024.
Information about automotive recalls, including but not limited to the list of involved vehicles, is current as of today’s filing date and is subject to change thereafter.
