An unprecedented and particularly intense emotion awaits lovers of history, design, elegance and vintage cars tomorrow, Wednesday 24 April, in Piazza Colonna, in Rome.
In front of Palazzo Chigi and in the shadow of the Column of Marcus Aurelius, it will, in fact, be possible to admire the 1950s Alfa Romeo Giulietta, which belonged to one of the great protagonists of the Italian economy and industry of the twentieth century: Enrico Mattei, promoter of Italy’s energy liberation and the fight against oligopolistic exploitation of energy sources, founder of Eni – National Hydrocarbons Agency and of one of the most authoritative Italian newspapers of the post-war period: the newspaper “Il Giorno”.
The initiative – promoted by the Ente Stati Generali del Patrimonio Italiano, in collaboration with ACI-Automobile Club d’Italia, ACI Storico and the Parliamentary Intergroup of Italian Heritage – takes place on the occasion of the approaching anniversary of Mattei’s birth – which took place in Acqualagna on 29 April 1906 – and intends to enhance the ideal bond that symbolically unites two Italian excellences: a great automotive brand and a great man of ingenuity, vision and enterprise.
The Stati Generali del Patrimonio Italiano body, the Automobile Club of Italy, ACI Storico and the Parliamentary Intergroup of Italian Heritage intend to thank the Presidency of the Council for this important opportunity to promote great Italian values, recognized and appreciated throughout the world.
