ACI: Euro NCAP, five stars for VW, MIFA AND ZEEKR

The third generation of the VW Tiguan has made progress compared to previous models: a wide choice of engines available, all versions are equipped with the latest safety technologies, such as automatic emergency braking (AEB), vehicle maintenance assistance lane and the system that monitors driver fatigue. Reaches the maximum rating: 5 stars.
The MIFA 7, a 7-seater electric minivan from Maxus – a division of SAIC Motor – equipped with the high-density 90 kWh “One Pack”, promises a range of 479 km on a single battery charge. Available in Europe from this summer, it scores 5 stars.
The Tourneo Custom – Ford’s diesel minivan – can accommodate up to nine seats and is equipped with flexible seats and a modern interior. With standard equipment, the overall rating is 3 stars. With the addition of an optional safety package, the stars can rise to 4.
ZEEKR – a recent brand, launched in 2001 – already boasts three well-selling models in China. Thanks to the expertise of parent company Geely and a Swedish team, the brand is rapidly expanding in the European premium electric car market. The first model tested by Euro NCAP is the ZEEKR 001 sedan, which achieves the highest overall rating of 5 stars. The same result also applies to the compact SUV possible to the environment): X with 96%, 001 with 95%.
“Very good that ZEEKR produces vehicles with good overall safety and environmental performance, demonstrating that safety and sustainability can go hand in hand in modern cars – said Michiel van Ratingen, Euro NCAP General Secretary. We will increasingly strive to promote ADAS systems that do not distract or annoy drivers.”
Following further evaluation by Euro NCAP, the Renault Scenic E Tech achieved 5 stars, in line with the 2022 test protocols and like its partner model, Renault Megane E-Tech.
