Who would have thought? Not New York, not Paris – Istanbul was the most visited city in the world last year. The number of visitors to the lively Turkish metropolis, where history and modernity meet, is exploding. And here on the Bosphorus, Opel has invited people to the world premiere of a new model that charges the brand’s past with a future: the name “Frontera” is back!
In front of an international audience, Opel CEO Florian Huettl, together with head of design Mark Adams and Tobias A. Gubitz, Senior Vice President Product & Pricing, unveiled the completely newly developed Opel SUV. The breaking news of the premiere day: the attractive starting prices. The Frontera Hybrid is available from around 24,000 euros, and the battery-electric version with a range of around 300 kilometers costs around 29,000 euros. With the “Long Range” version even 400 kilometers are possible. “The spacious and electrified SUV will open up new customer groups for us,” announced Opel CEO Huettl confidently.

Intuitively understandable, affordable and focused on the essentials in every respect: The Frontera makes a strong statement. It is also so spacious that it will also be available as a seven-seater in the future.
Over 130 international media representatives were on site at the world premiere in the Turkish metropolis.
Thousands of people also watched the live press conference of the world premiere on their screens.
“The Frontera impressed us”: The media response to the newly developed Opel SUV is consistently positive.
The first day of the premiere was reserved for the bosses. But especially on the second day, when the Turkish Opel colleagues and the country’s dealers were able to experience the new Frontera Electric live for the first time, she was the secret star: Özgecan Özdemir. The colleague from Rüsselsheim entered the big stage and presented the numerous practical features on board with charm and know-how – in her native language, Turkish.
SUV full of exciting features
Her expertise is extensive: As Brand Marketing Manager, Özgecan Özdemir has been accompanying the launch of Frontera for months. For example, she develops the strategies for various markets for the introduction of the new Opel SUV. When it became clear that the world premiere would take place in her former home, she was immediately hooked: “The Frontera is full of exciting features – it is a matter close to my heart to use my voice to bring the many highlights out into the world.” Especially since The Turkish market is an important one for Opel: it is the third largest after Germany and Great Britain.
And the competence of the Rüsselsheim colleague did not go unnoticed by the Turkish media representatives. Whether drive selection, the new digital ordering process or the news that the Frontera will also be available as a seven-seater in the future – Özgecan Özdemir repeatedly stood in front of cameras to present the highlights. Your favorite features? “The Frontera looks good, is affordable and focused on the essentials,” she says. The overall concept is just right. “It’s not just the people in Turkey who will love the new Opel SUV!” she is certain.

Simple purchasing process: The new Frontera will be the first Opel model to be able to be ordered digitally via a “one-scroll experience”. In the future, you can purchase your vehicle completely online if you wish.
Özgecan Özdemir and Florian Huettl ensured a successful first public appearance of the new Opel Frontera, which marks another milestone on the path to sustainable mobility.
In front of the camera: Özgecan Özdemir was a sought-after contact person, especially for Turkish media representatives.
Whether drive selection or loading volume: As Brand Marketing Manager, Özgecan Özdemir knows all the exciting details.
The Turkish native speaker was also a competent conversation partner for the guests at dinner.
And it’s not just the Opel Brand Marketing Manager who sees it this way: the press response to the world premiere of the new Frontera includes hundreds of articles and videos, some of them euphoric. “The design of the compact SUV appears confident and well proportioned,” writes the author of “Die Welt”. The Autobild.de portal headlines “New Frontera back to its former strength,” while t-online states: “The Frontera (…) is a nice, sensible and perhaps cheaper alternative to many other models on the large field of family-friendly SUVs. “
New standards with a “blow price”
The attractive entry-level prices in particular take up a lot of space in the reporting. “This family SUV is surprisingly affordable,” is the headline in Handelsblatt. AutoBild writes: “If the predicted prices come true, the Frontera would be a lot of car for the money.” The online portal GIGA calls the “killer price” a “declaration of war from Opel” with which the company is setting new standards. And the news channel n-tv states: “It is almost sensational that the new Opel Frontera will be available from around 24,000 euros and could therefore finally be financially viable for larger families.”
“With the sum of its qualities, the Frontera could become Opel’s new ‘front woman’ or the new ‘front man’ at the sales concert,” Vision Mobility predicts. The reasons given by the magazine are that the newcomer “combines many great features and yet does not forget its brand core.” The author’s conclusion is: “The Frontera impressed us and should be exactly that for 80, no actually 100% of car drivers “What they need for comfortable individual transportation.” With this positive media response, Özgecan Özdemir can continue to push forward the strategies for the introduction of the new Opel SUV in the coming months with a lot of tailwind. “After the great feedback in Istanbul, I’m even more excited about the start of sales at the end of the year,” she says.
