BOSTON, June 7, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — On October 28, 2012, a tragic incident occurred in Roxbury, Massachusetts, where a young man, DeAndre Russ, was fatally shot after a party. David Yarde, who was just 21 years old at the time and had a 2-year-old disabled son, was quickly charged and subsequently convicted in 2014 as the assailant, despite a minimal investigation.
Final milisecond (2:18:02) in which the shots went off and David Yarde is seen ducking behind the column, not shooting or even holding a gun.
For the past decade, David Yarde has steadfastly maintained his innocence. Over this period, he has acquired four scientific expert reports supporting his claims; and most recently, a critical one-millisecond video clip from surveillance footage provided by DA Conley’s office has been generated. This clip, timestamped at 2:18:02, captures the exact moment the first shot was fired, showing David ducking for safety and not holding a gun, as confirmed by two neutral eyewitnesses.
The video clip (still photo of it attached) unequivocally demonstrates David’s innocence. However, despite months of reviewing this and other scientific evidence, District Attorney Hayden has refused to meet with our team to acknowledge David’s innocence, let alone file a motion to vacate his conviction.
Given David and his family’s continued suffering, the National David Yarde Freedom Coalition is holding a press conference on June 7th at 11:00 a.m. in front of the Massachusetts State House. During this event, we will present all evidence in detail, along with supporting documentation. Speaking will be Lynn Currier, Director of Skweda Solutions (who brought wrongfully convicted Corey Glover home on 5-4-2022), Osagie Okoruwa, Director of Innocent Convicts, Michael Washington, Director of Oklahoma Coalition Against People Abuse, and Mrs. Yarde, David’s 86 year-old grandmother. The National David Yarde Freedom Coalition urges members of the press, legal community, and the public to attend this press conference to hear the full story and join us in our fight for justice.
