PLANO, Texas (Aug. 26, 2024) — Toyota is conducting a safety recall involving certain model year 2023-2024 Sequoia vehicles in the North, Central and South America as well as the Middle East. Approximately 45,300 vehicles are involved in this recall in total, with approximately 43,400 in the U.S.
The resin tow hitch cover could separate from the rear bumper of the vehicle while driving and potentially become a road hazard, potentially increasing the risk of a crash.
For involved vehicles, Toyota dealers will replace the resin tow hitch cover with an improved one, free of charge.
Owners will receive notification advising them that they can mitigate the risk by removing the cover until the improved cover is available.
Customers will be notified about this issue through the mail by late October 2024.
