@Tata-JLR: JLR OFFERS 4,000 PLANT WORKERS CHECKS TO IDENTIFY HEALTH PROBLEMS EARLY

Health and Wellbeing at JLR

Central to JLR’s global health and wellbeing are the pillars of Mind, Body, and Life. A holistic approach is taken to support our employees around the world, wherever they may be on their personal journey, from struggling to thriving. Prevention is a fundamental element of the programme, empowering individuals to making lifestyle changes – health checks very much support this.

JLR invests £15 million per year in employee health and wellbeing. As well as investing in our own employees, we also work with our global suppliers where we can help them develop strategies to support their own employees.

JLR has seven Wellbeing Centres to support employee needs on all aspects of preventative wellbeing, rehabilitative wellbeing and wellbeing awareness through educational workshops. Mobile wellbeing centres cover all of our smaller satellite sites. Since their launch, our Wellbeing Centres [FS1] [FR2] have supported 11,000 employees (25%) complete a diverse range of programmes

JLR also has  18 health kiosks across our UK sites which employees can use for free to access health checks including blood pressure, weight, and heart rate, in the past two years these health kiosks have conducted more than 40,000 tests.

JLR offers employees and family members the following for free each year: three virtual GP appointments, six mental health appointments, six nutritionist appointments, and annual health check (employee only). JLR’s Employee Assistant Programme provides 24/7 support for employees on everything from debt worries, relationship problems, legal issues through to health and wellbeing.

Mental Health: Complementing local services, we offer mental health services with only a 2 week average waiting period. It is easier for people to get the support at work and when they need it.

JLR’s employee wellbeing survey demonstrated that of 18,000 employees, 74.8% felt their manager cares for them and 73.9% feel supported to make decisions about their health and wellbeing. (May 2024)

JLR has recently added progressive policies surrounding family issues including child loss and the menopause.
