– We need more knowledge about well-being in the car industry. This way we can strengthen recruitment and work systematically to increase the proportion of women and increase diversity, says the BIL director.
The well-being survey was carried out for the first time in 2022, and the car industry in Norway works continuously with a focus on well-being, diversity and inclusion. BIL and NBF, which together stand behind the extensive investigation, are therefore very excited about the result.
The 2023 version showed a marginal decrease in bullying, and a marginal increase in well-being.
Last year, 1,390 employees in the car industry responded to the Well-Being Survey – an increase of 250 employees from 2022. Now is the time to conduct a new survey, and we hope that at least as many will respond this year. The well-being survey is open from 15 – 25. October. It is managers in the member companies who must forward the survey to their employees.
– We need help to reach the employees, it is therefore important that the businesses forward the survey to their employees. By increasing well-being in the industry, more people will want to join the industry and stay in their position for longer, says Stig Morten Nilsen in NBF.
Surveying well-being in the car industry is important. The aim is for the survey to be a guideline for improving the working environment and diversity in the industry.
The findings from last year’s survey show that the arrows for bullying and well-being are pointing in the right direction. It appears that most people in the industry thrive, but the aim is for there to be even more. Increased well-being is important to get more people to want to join the industry, and to retain the good skills and the best people, says Harald Jachwitz Andersen, director of BIL.
Findings from the Well-Being Survey in 2023
– Will make us more attractive to employees
– The well-being survey in the car industry is very important. The industry needs more competent and motivated employees, and the survey gives us insight into where we need to improve. In this way, we can become even more attractive to employees, and not least retain them. The survey will be carried out in the period 15 – 25. October. It will take approx. five minutes to complete, which may prove to be a good investment for a more profitable car industry in the future, says Stig Morten Nilsen in NBF.
He is supported by the BIL director, who adds:
– We need more knowledge about well-being throughout the industry. In this way, we can strengthen recruitment and work systematically to increase the proportion of women and increase diversity. That is why BIL and NBF are doing this survey together. An added bonus is that the businesses will be able to retrieve their own reports, which can be of great help in their further work to increase well-being, says Harald Andersen, director of BIL.
The survey has been prepared in collaboration between BIL and NBF, and Moment is responsible for the practical implementation. The results will be announced on 26 November, and will also be presented at the Automotive Industry Days in November.
