[October 1, 2024] KGM announced that Chairman Jea-sun Kwak participated in the Torres launch event and dealer conference in Australia to boost global sales.
The event was held from October 8 for two days at the RAVC Cape Schanck Resort near Melbourne, with 80 participants from 60 different dealers.
The event was organized to share KGM’s new brand strategy, mid to long-term operation plans, and sales and marketing strategies for 2025 with local dealers, along with an overview of how KGM will operate in the Australian market.
At the Torres launch event, the Torres EVX and Actyon – KGM’s latest model whose exports began last month – were introduced, along with their market penetration strategies.
In his opening speech, Chairman Jea-sun Kwak stated that “The Australian automobile market, with its high market share of SUVs and pickups, presents a significant opportunity for KGM’s growth. Through the launch of the Torres, our SUV lineup has become even stronger. With the upcoming releases of the Torres EVX and Actyon, we will actively collaborate with local dealers to maximize our synergy.”
He added, “Actyon, our first model that reflects the KGM brand strategy, has been well received in both domestic and export markets; we have high expectations for its success in Australia. Going forward, we will not only continue to launch new models but also strengthen communication and cooperation with local dealers and expand our aggressive marketing strategies to successfully increase sales.”
KGM established its first foreign subsidiary in Australia in December 2018. Beginning with 1,600 export units in 2019, KGM has managed to export more than four times as much last year: 8,606 units. This year, KGM expects to maintain similar export levels and aims to reach 10,000 units next year.
Dealers who attended the event expressed satisfaction with the Torres, Torres EVX and Actyon, which have been recognized for their competitiveness in both the domestic and export markets, and reaffirmed their strong commitment to increase sales.
