One mocha, please! Designers and engineers have made Rüsselsheim’s unconventional successful model even more powerful. Where is there more flavor in the SUV bestseller? Let’s take a look at the ingredients list.
Design: Gently sharpened
The design language of the Mokka is clear, bold and unconventional. Those responsible at Opel did not turn the appearance of the bestseller “inside out”, but rather gently sharpened it. At the center of the Vizor brand face sits the new lightning bolt. The integrated headlight units with LED lights have a modern interpretation: three “light blocks” instead of one line. A black design line, on the other hand, runs from the hood and further above the side windows to the rear. There is additional black on the front, rear and wheel arches of the Mokka GS. Special aero rims and the newly designed front bumper improve the aerodynamics of the Mokka Electric. Consistent: Chrome applications are completely avoided.
“Our mocha is a bestseller. Bold, clear and distinctive – a character type that stands out from the crowd.”
– Opel CEO Florian Huettl –
Interior: Focused on the essentials
The interior is dedicated to the detox approach: focusing on the essentials. The steering wheel, flattened at the top and bottom with the new lightning bolt in the middle, reinforces the horizontal lines and thus reflects the Opel compass of the exterior design. The center console, which shines in a matt silver tone, is “Pure and Bold” – some buttons previously placed here have been moved to the central color touchscreen. The design of the remaining switches (electric parking brake, driving modes) comes from the completely new Grandland. And Greenovation is also very important in the interior: in order to conserve resources, all fabrics are made from materials with recycled content.
Infotainment: taken to the next level
The new multimedia and navigation infotainment also takes the new Mokka to the next level. The further developed bestseller now offers a 10-inch digital driver information display and an equally large color touchscreen as standard. As with a smartphone, this can be easily operated using widgets – in combination with the optional navigation system, simply saying “Hey Opel” is enough to use natural voice recognition. Both displays can be personalized in many ways. The system recognizes the driver’s personal profile on the connected smartphone; The connection with the new Mokka is always “wireless”. Setting up various virtual shortcuts on the central screen as well as different color worlds offer further options for individualization.
Can be ordered: full electric to hybrid
Opel also makes the selection process as clear as the design: the new Mokka will be available in the two equipment variants “Edition” and “GS” as well as with two individualization packages. On the drive side, customers have a choice – from the efficient petrol engine as well as two electrified alternatives. The compact SUV will be available both as a modern hybrid with 48-volt technology and as a battery-electric, locally emission-free Mokka Electric.
