Bosch expects to invoice up to 3% more in 2018, exceeding 80,400 million

The Bosch Group expects its turnover to grow between 2% and 3% in 2018, exceeding 80,400 million euros, after achieving record results in 2017 and despite economic and geopolitical “risks”.

The German manufacturer of components for automobiles entered last year 78.100 million euros, 6.8% more than the previous year, as confirmed in January. In addition, he explained during his annual press conference that the sales generated by the company in the first quarter of the current year equaled the “high level” of the same period of the previous year.

Operating profit increased by 17.7%, reaching 5,300 million euros, equivalent to an operating margin of 6.8%, and all business areas reported sales increases, as in all regions where which operates, except for North America.

As of December 31, 2017, the Bosch group employed around 402,000 people worldwide, which translates into an interannual increase of 12,900 workers, 3.2% more.

Looking ahead, the company is working to achieve a “breakthrough” in mobility. Last year, the firm won 20 contracts to produce electric transmission systems, valued at 4,000 million euros, and expects the mass market of electric vehicles to take off from 2020.

2,000 MILLION IN DRIVER ASSISTANCE.

In addition, Bosch is also making “significant” progress in the transition to automated driving. So, by 2019, you want to generate sales worth 2,000 million euros with driver assistance systems.

In this context, it is growing above the market and expects its sales of radar and video camera sensors to grow by 40%, according to the company itself.

The connected mobility is another market with a “great potential” of business for Bosch, since it is expected that, in 2022, the value of this market will reach 140,000 million euros worldwide. In 2025, the German manufacturer of automotive components believes that there will be more than 450 million vehicles connected by roads.
