On the World Day of Remembrance of Road Victims on 17 November, the Automobile Club of Italy relaunches the value of responsible mobility on social media
On the occasion of the World Day of Remembrance of Road Victims, the Automobile Club of Italy’s commitment to promoting road safety through social media is renewed for the second year with the “#blindside” awareness campaign.
“Safety is a thin line… don’t cross it” is the warning that accompanies 8 images crossed by the thin border between safe mobility and road accidents: the behaviors and choices of all road users make the difference between one comfortable shift and one with tragic consequences.
The campaign highlights the importance of not being distracted with a mobile phone while driving or on foot, of wearing helmets and high-visibility clothing on two wheels, of placing children in child seats and of securing four-legged friends with the appropriate protective devices. , as well as not driving under the influence of alcohol.
The contents are developed with the help of artificial intelligence to increase the emotional impact and diffusion through digital channels.
The hashtag #blindside turns the spotlight on the “blind spots” of conscience where people mistakenly believe they can break the Highway Code without consequences.
“This week #blindside has already reached over 500,000 people – declares the President of the Automobile Club of Italy, Angelo Sticchi Damiani – but in the last five years we have launched more than 40 campaigns on Instagram, Youtube, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, each of which it counted more than 1 million contacts. However, we prefer to measure the success of our awareness-raising efforts in the social and economic contribution to the protection of human life on Italian roads. The latest ACI-ISTAT data, released just yesterday, highlight the increase in accidents, deaths and injuries in the first half of this year on the Italian road network: this demonstrates the absolute need to insist on education and training for everyone to eradicate the plague of road accidents”.
