PLANO, Texas (Nov. 20, 2024) – Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) announces an executive change to its quality systems and policy operations.
Kent Rice, group vice president, Quality, will retire on January 2, 2025 after more than 33 years of service with Toyota. In his role, Rice is responsible for the development, deployment and management of the quality systems and policies within Toyota’s North American operations.
Prior to his current position, Rice was vice president of quality at Toyota Engineering and Manufacturing of America (TEMA) in Erlanger, Kentucky. His prior experience also includes positions as North American shop self-reliance lead for quality, as well as the quality control general manager of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (TMMC). While at TMMC, Rice held positions as assistant general manager of Lexus assembly and was the quality manager responsible for the preparation of the first Lexus built outside of Japan.
Succeeding Rice, Tom Trisdale, vice president, Quality Promotion, Assurance & Audit, will be promoted to group vice president, Quality, effective January 2, 2025, reporting to Chris Nielsen, executive vice president, Product Support and chief quality officer, TMNA.
