He is a repeat offender: It was a few weeks ago that Iasson Valiano test drove the new Opel Grandland Electric at the employee event at the headquarters. “I was so excited about the trip,” says the colleague from Rüsselsheim, “that I couldn’t resist today.” And so he is one of the first to complete the formalities for a sale on site at the Winter WOW Week of “Sales to Employees”. Test drive signed.
Valiano presses the keyless key and the Opel flash, illuminated for the first time, lights up – “an absolute wow moment.” In general: he lives the “Opel goes electric” philosophy, says the colleague and gets settled in behind the steering wheel. Without ifs and buts. He has installed a wallbox at home and electricity is supplied by the connected solar system on the roof. “Today I’m particularly looking forward to seeing the 50,000 LED elements of the Matrix light in action,” he says, before he uses the electric motor’s maximum torque of 345 Newton meters to its destination.
“Many family members and friends are here: the Family & Friends offer – it has become a permanent fixture.”
– Keywan Hemmati from “Sales to Employees” –
Family & Friends: Merve and Ibrahim Tekes chose the Astra Sports Tourer. Daughter Ilay is also there for the test drive.
“This will be my new Opel”: Iasson Valiano is betting on the new Grandland – electric, of course. Wallbox and solar system are waiting at home.
For the love of the brand: The former colleague has been retired for a long time, but he never misses a sales event.
Densely surrounded: The Opel Frontera is a real crowd puller – visitors leave no detail untested.
“That’s what dad works for”: Daniel Slaghekke, a colleague at Stellantis Bank, takes the opportunity to show his family the latest models.
And it’s not just employees who flock to the Christmas-decorated area on Mainzer Straße on the two sales days. The dad, the brother, the neighbor – these are the pioneers for the consultations at the first three tables in the M118 sales room. The short sample shows: The Family & Friends offer is popular. Not only employees and former employees can benefit from the attractive offers, but also those who are lucky enough to have an Opel employee in their environment. “Many family members and friends are here today,” confirms Keywan Hemmati. “The Family & Friends offer – it has become a permanent fixture.”
Merve Tekes, for example, works for the city of Rüsselsheim: “My dad is from Opel – through him I can benefit from the employee conditions.” She currently drives an Insignia Sports Tourer, and she and her husband are considering an Astra as a second car. Also as a station wagon. Strollers, tricycles, additional luggage – as young parents you need plenty of storage space. Although they were able to access the Winter WOW Week offers online all week long, they were “rather old school,” says Merve Tekes. And so, after the test drive, they first get extensive advice.
Handmade gifts: Opel CEO Florian Huettl (right) and labor director Ralph Wangemann (left) visit the trainees’ stand.
Advent calendar, Christmas tree baubles and Santa Claus: This year the Opel Lifestyle Shop has launched a Christmas collection especially for the holidays.
This is how #TeamOpel celebrates: During the Winter WOW Week, the lightning bolt also adorns the tree.
Nice memory: The team spirit is celebrated in the photo box.
Tastes as delicious as it looks: Belgian waffles after the test drive.
Meanwhile, the atmospheric Christmas market on the premises, which the “Sales to Employees” team has lovingly designed, tempts with baked apples, non-alcoholic mulled wine, a carousel and curling. The Opel trainees have a stand and offer beautiful wood and metal work. “Everything is handmade by our trainees,” emphasizes trainer Ina Friese. The Opel Lifestyle Shop has started the Christmas countdown and is presenting, among other things, a Christmas collection with socks, Advent calendars and Christmas tree decorations.
“As a team, we achieved great things this year and set the right course for the future.”
– Opel CEO Florian Huettl –
Opel CEO Florian Huettl is also on site and exchanges ideas with visitors and employees. “It’s important to me to keep talking and receiving valuable feedback,” he emphasizes. Together with Labor Director Ralph Wangemann, the Opel boss also takes the opportunity to thank his colleagues for their great commitment and support: “As a team, we have achieved great things this year and have set the right course for the future. We have set milestones with our newcomers Grandland and Frontera.”
And every now and then a yellow car: The anticipation of Christmas increases on the carousel.
Who is the top dog? When curling, the aim is to occupy the target circle as precisely as possible.
While visitors take Grandland and Astra for test drives every minute, other guests prove that you can also put a static vehicle on display through its paces. The 60:40 split rear seat is folded down, the legroom in the rear is tested, smartphones end up in the charging station – the newcomer Frontera is closely surrounded, every detail finds a tester. Last but not least, a family packs a wheelchair into the trunk as a test. Result: Fits easily!
And so the “Sales to Employees” with the Winter WOW Week not only created days with attractive sales offers, but also an event where the #TeamOpel comes together to celebrate the fascination for the brand and the models, as well as the Opel team spirit . “Our thanks go to Corinna Schäfer and the entire sales team for the excellent preparation and implementation of this event,” emphasizes Florian Huettl. Iasson Valiano’s conclusion is also clear after his second test drive with the Grandland Electric: “This will be my new Opel.” As an employee in the homologation department, he knows all the technical details: “We have really created something extraordinary – just wow!”
Personal advice: Bakari Mwabasi is part of the sales team.
Convincing test drive: The Tekes family comes together for a purchase discussion.
“Valuable feedback”: Florian Huettl (right) exchanges ideas with colleagues.
“That’s wow!”: The colleagues from “Sales to Employees” set up the sales campaign with great attention to detail.
